Hi Guys, Just finishing off my 42% Extra 300 and now lookin forward to the next project. Had decided on a comp arf super extra, but a guy turned up at our field with a Krill Katana 39%. I was gob smacked (he is the best pilot i have seen over here). Just wondering what you guys think as its about Ģ400 more for the Krill. I know i'm asking for it but either comp arf or Krill. I want a composite, already have a build up Extra 300 42%. Cheers for your opinion. Andy ![]() ![]() ![]()

man the krill sure does seem to be tremendous... i have only watched them fly. videos, joe nall this year etc.... probably can't go wrong there......but...... i LOVE my superxtra. i just got it a few months ago and have very little time on her yet but what a joy! i think the katana will probably be a little better sequence plane but the super is a 3d animal... just my $.02 |

Not sure if you go on 3drc - http://www.3drc.info (I'm from the UK too). The owner of the site has the big Krill and there are guys on there with the Extra. You may be able to post there and get some good info. Both are beautiful planes. I would probably vote Extra - It's a hugely capable 3d aeroplane.

Hi Andrew greetings from the UK. Yeah it was Nathan with his Krill Katana i saw, problem is he is an amazing pilot so any flaws can be masked by skill!!! Also he flies IMAC, i'm more interested in 3d. Its the first time i have seen a Krill plane flying so was interested in everybodies opinions. Cheers Andy

Hopefully here in the next couple of weeks, I will be able to do a side by side comparison of the Krill Yak and 3.0 Composite Arf Yak..Still waiting on the R1222 high current receiver from Horizon...

Krill looks like it's awesome for 3D, but from what I have seen in precision, it seems to 'hunt' for a straight line sometimes. It does seem to fly precision OK, but I have yet to see one flying at an IMAC competition this year. Now, if IMAC is not your #1 goal with your plane, I'd definitely say go for the Krill.

Now you can complicate the mix by adding in the Krill 40% yak! I do like the look of the Katana though. You're in a great position as whatever you get will be a stunning aeroplane. On a side note it's worth getting Zimmerman cans for whatever you choose. I know Nathan runs them and I've recently been using them. I'm really impressed with the linear throttling I get with very little throttle curve adjustment. Power is great and they sound fantastic (you can get them from Motors and Rotors back there). | ||||||||||||||||||
