Default QQ Yak 120" Flight Reports???

Since I did not find that much info on this site about this plane I thought I would get some. I am seriously considering this plane and I basically want to know how it performs in precision and if it has enough power with a 150 on standard exhaust. I am pretty sure it is 3d capable but I was wondering how it flew precision.
Thanks guys, sorry for posting so many threads but I am tryin to get info quick.

I saw Ivan Kristensen (spelling) take first place in Ocala Fl, Oct 07 in unlimited with a prototype, DA-150 on Greaves pipes and 2 snaps on the vertical were not a problem.

I have flown a couple of sequences with Ivan's plane. It flies very very well, but he is very good at airplane setup. It was 100○ outside and it had enough power to fly the Unlimited sequence.

Did it feel like it was good in tracking and snaps.

Yes it tracks fine. I did notice on 45 downline snaps I had to goose the power to get it to snap well. It has alot of drag and really slows on downlines. Compared to my Comp Arf 3M 260 it was alot slower on up and downlines. It rolled better then my Comp arf. Both planes snap very well.

You probably want to consider DA150 and tuned pipes. However for sportsman, you should have no problem with stock muffler and 150. I rather see a DA170 in there but then again it will do the job for sportsman with the set up you are looking for unless you are in high altitude.

Plane is an excellent precision machine!

I only flew one tank of gas through it. That being said, I like the yak alot.

I agree with Reza, The Greeves add alot of power to the plane. I am impressed with the plane. But that is what is also nice about the plane, if you start out with stock mufflers and find out you need or want more, the Greeves pipe install is as simple as sliding the pipes in the already installed mounts and cut a hole in the covering. Don't think you would be disappointed in the preformance of the plane.

Guys, Extra260 flies at higher elevations, over 5,000 feet, so one's idea of 'enough power' at sea level is different than his idea. That being said, I am sure it will get you through the Sportsman sequence - just build it LIGHT!
Still, Mike, there's no substitute for power to spare - you did see my sub-38 pound 260 on Greves fly at Albuquerque, didn't you

I have a DA150 with stock muffs and a 32/10 NS prop. Im also close to sea level.
It has plenty of power to fly the adv routine, snaps well, excellent rolling circles, all around a great plane (and I have flown seveal different types). I have no mix on edge. I can snap on the upline with no problems (however only once, twice will start to show a slow down).
I will admit its not light (42lbs), but I am really happy with it. I would totally recommend it for an IMAC plane.

Buy the way, its great in every aspect of 3D except for blow overs (at least the way I have mine setup).

Yes, I did see that thing... It was awsome. You flew it perfect. When I judged you I really did not have many means to dock you any points. Especially when it pulled super fast and hard on those 45 neg snaps... It looked really good. I kind of want one of those planes but then again I still want a compy, does your plane feel really good in sequences Nick??? So you think pipes are a must? I deffinetly dont like being under powered since I was used to my compy on greives with out of site vertical. Have there been any lite storys with this yak.
