Default Servos for the QQ 102" Yak

Hey guys- I was just wondering if Hitec 5985's (x4) would be enough for the QQ 102" Yak control surfaces, ailerons only and 5955's on the elevators and a 8711 for the rudder? Reason being I have some 5985's that I could use for the ailerons if they would work. Thanks in advance.

Hello,

i have exactly the setup on my Yak 102 as you described and the 5985 have a lot of authority on the ailerons, so no problems there, BUT i really don't like the 8711 on the rudder. It has so much play and it shakes likes mad..... I would go with two 5955

I have 8711 all the way around on a couple of my planes. No major issue like the 8611's. And yes I own planes with all Futaba 9156's and one plane with all Hitecs so I am not a brand snob.

I have one 8711 on the rudder of my Gen 3 102" Yak. No problems what so ever. No shaking, no slop, nothing. Works great!

My 8711 on my yak's rudder works well with no slop or shake for about 30 flights. After that the shaking begins to worsen as well as the amount of slop.

I reall like the JR's Precision and torque but the geartrain could use some work.
