I'm buying a new plane, so it's came down to these two, the QQ 102 Yak (I love Yaks) or the Jtec Radiowave 2.7 meter Extra 300. I heard some say that the Extra flies better "hands down" than the QQ 102 Yak. My question is has anyone flown both planes to really compare, honestly?

I think it depends on what you want. I have been flying the QQ102 Yak since March. Is the best of both worlds. At NATS I saw one JTEC airplane and a bunch of QQ designs.

No I havent flown the 2.7m Jtec, but I did fly the larger 40% (not sure the span or anything). Comparing it to the Yak, the Yak was a lot better, even though the 40% is a 40%. That was in precision, I never flew the Extra in 3D, but I know the Yak is a 3D machine, and would be a hard one to beat. I flew IMAC all last year with it as well as freestyle, and took second at the Nats last year as well as 2nd in the Tucson Shootout in the intermediate class. Its a great flying airplane, but again, I havent compared it to the 2.7m Extra, only the 40% version. Seth |

I had a GenI 102" Yak and I now fly a 2.7M Jtec Extra. I really don't think either one does anything better hands down. Either plane can do anything the pilot is capable of doing. You won't be held back by what ever choice you make. Buy the one you like the looks of the best because they both fly great.

Thanks guys- I'm really leaning toward the QQ 102, I really like the Python also, however I don't think I can get it to fit into my Nissan Xterra, it does'nt have the removable stabs but the Yak does. I'm going to make measurements one time to see if by chance I could squeeze it there. Seth congrats on your wins, I talked with Molly the past two days and she was telling about it, I only dream about flying like some of you guys.

Don't get me wrong, I do think the Jtec is a great flying plane. It has also been along time since I have flown a QQ Yak so it could be alot better. I am also in the dialing in process of the Jtec so I think it will be even better once I get it setup to my liking. The best option would be to get both |

I have not seen alot of first hand info on the 2.7M Jtec Extra. Am I missing something? How does the 260 H9 stand up to it?
