havent been too happy with the flight characteristics of the katana. stalling, wing rock, continuing manuvers 1-2 seconds after releaseing the sticks, rolling out of loops, poor landing characteristics, not too great in the wind. just havent been too happy. anywho. what recomendations for a 50cc extra. (not a yak or SU fan) post up your experiences. |

Don't have one, but the Aeroworks Extra looks awesome. I've seen it fly in the 50cc, 100cc, and 150cc versions and all of them looked like winners. The EF Extra also looks awesome. I hear they feel like bigger planes in the air.

yeah thats what im looking for a heavier plane, the katana is 14.5-15 lbs. the EF website says there 88" extra is 16-17 i think. but i noticed most were running pipes on 50cc in that EF plane so im wondering if the extra weight is too much for a 50cc.

I wasn't a YAK Fan either till I flew one. That EF 88" Yak is the real deal. The Extreme Flight Extra is highly spoken of as well. 3D Hobbies has a 87" inch Extra that should be good as well. I think there is a big thread on it as well as the EF Extra. Chuck

You don't have to run pipes. A DL or Area 51 would pull it nicely with a pitts. I have the EF and really like it. Their planes are in a class of their own IMO. I have the Brillelli 60 with the stock pitts. Plenty of pull. Not sure if they are available right now though. |

im willing to give up a bit of performance on the yaks, for the looks of the extra that i love. plus i like to be allitle different.yeah im running a DL50, i just noticed from research they were all running pipes and i got conserned about power. especially in the 100+ heat of texas. it was 107 when i flew at 6pm yesterday and the 22A vess (break-in prop) was really struggling on vertical punch out power. what kind of airfoil is on the EF? what else is out there besides EF? | ||||||||||||||||||

Why aren't you running a 23A?
