actually I think they are still in business. Unless you can go and pick it up, or visually inspect it before you buy......I'd pass even though the price is good.

In the past year any kind of quality control has been lost. Do a search here on FG and you will see. I own 2 Aerotech kits and both arrived fine. They both fly outstanding. But this was before all the B.S. that has happened.

I think the best way to answer your post is to break it down question by question.

Anybody know how this baby flies?
Not well out of the box you will have to do a lot of modifications.

Can you trust in Aerotech?
Two words answer this question and its “Hell” and “No”.

Is there customer service ok?
Pending who you are if your the customer than I would say no.

Does he deliver the kits with cowls-canopy etc etc or are the short shipped?
You would have to call Dennis and ask him if he is making Velox cowls and canopies, if he answers no than you aint getting those parts in your kit.

I need to know something before I spend my money on Aerotech?
It’s not so much spending as it would be giving.

Hope this helps Joen

THX guys!!

I better spend my money on something else like the KRILL YAK55.

Why did I ask ? because I'm flying KRILL's Velox 33% and Krill has stopped the production of the 47% Velox and I'm not able to convince Krill to make 1of the 47% to me, so I'm looking around for others who make a big Velox and they are hard to find.
THX again!!

Number one, your all asking the wrong person these questions. Since i worked for him for over three years I would know better than anyone here what John is doing. To answer your questions, Yes he is still in business, Yes he is still selling kits, Yes the velox is a great flying bird just ask the Hamiltons. Is it a big heavy bird? Yes it is. Can it be lighten? Yes it can. I have done it before. You could most likely get it down to 39 lbs with some simple mods. Matt Scotts Velox was John Sharpless plane. It was the first one out. There's no part of this plane that came from Carden Aircraft. He has all parts in stock. He's making all his own fiberglass parts now. Do I work for him? NO. I have my own company as you know. Do i have people call me to build his planes? Yes all the time. I personally have two Sukhoi-26 kits in my shop. One is for me and the other is Mike Badgers. And another customer has ordered a Yak-54 for me to build. That kit is also cut and ready for me to start on in December for a early 09 delivery. I'm not strickly a Dalton builder. I build what people send me. I'd build a Carden if someone wanted me to. I have Carden on my web site as a link. If you have any question let me know. Rob

And to add to my statement above. I do not approve of what he has done in the past with customers but I will say that when I met him four years ago he didn't do that kind of stuff. So I don't know if it was from the devorce or what but something change in his life and at the end I didn't want to be a part of it. I 'm on my own and doing great and the people that own Aerotech airplanes that know me usely call me for any parts that they may need. I box them up at my shop and send them out. His shop is only a couple blocks from my family owned Air Conditioning Company in Clearwater. At this point that's all i have to say. Rob
