Default Rudder servo(s) for aeroworks extra 260 100cc

I just ordered a aeroworks extra 260 100cc to replace my h9 extra 260 which I lost a month ago. I grew tired of watching horizon continuely delay their plane, so I cancelled my order and ordered the aeroworks. My h9 extra 260 had 1 Jr 8711 for the rudder, setup as a pushpull. I see the aeroworks manual says to install 2 servo's in a pull-pull configuration. If I use a 8711, are 2 still recommended/needed? I have 2 of them, but I like to keep things simple.

Thanks
Kevin.

I have used one 8711 in a pull-pull configuration on the rudder of a qq 102 Yak and a Comp-Arf 2.6 Extra 260. Works great, no blow back, and will do anything with authority.

If you already have the two, install them! I'm (almost) sure an 8711 is enough, but you're putting all that strain on only one set of gears. Get two and have a sh!tload of power and less slop problems.

I've been running 1 8611a on mine since 2006 in a pull/pull configuration. I've had no problems.

you can still install the single servo in the tail of the AW 260.

I am running a single 8711 in my AW 100 cc 260 installed as a push pull in the tail. The mounting point for the servo is already on the plane. Works great, I can do knife edge loops all day.

Cool, didn't realize it had a mount there already (don't have the plane yet, I JUST ordered it). I will do that then. I had no problems with that config in the H9 extra 260.

Thanks!

Hey Steve- It was great talking with you the other evening, I flew the AW 75cc Yak today, this thing just keeps getting better and better, the ZDZ Super 80 takes it for a ride. I'm learning to hover the plane (up high) of course, but hey maybe it's not too late to learn some 3D. LOL I'm still looking at the 260 or the Jtec. I just love the way these Yaks fly!

I enjoyed talking to you as well. Remember, you are never too old to learn to fly some 3-D. The really good thing is that which ever plane we discussed you choose, you end up with a great airplane!

I had a single Fut 9156 on mine mounted in the tail with a 1:1 linkage. It seemed that I was not getting full rudder deflection when doing knife edge with higher power settings. I added a second 9156 in the tail on the other side and there was a noticable improvement in rudder authority.

I'm using a single 8711 (pull-pull) and it's plenty strong enough - just normal gear slop as it ages...

One 8711 is all you need, and you should do a push-pull in the tail as you will need the tailweight for balance. There are already servo cutouts back there. All you need to do is remove the covering over one of them.
