Hey guys- I have been flying Aeroworks planes here for a while, I am looking at buying another but for some reason I have been thinking about the 102" QQ Yak, is this plane as good as it's advertised or would I be disappointed? My AW is a great plane and flies like I want it to, I'm moving up to the 100cc class I thought I might want to try something different, no one close to me has one of these planes or I would go and look at it, one concern, is the quality as good as the AW, I'm use to the qb series and I know it will take longer to get it together than the QB series but will it last a good while of just basic flying, I'm not a 3Der not yet anyway. Thanks for all the help here on FG, this is a great family to be hooked up with. Last edited by luv2flyguy; 08-28-2008 at 06:45 PM. |

I am in your boat and actually just ordered the 100cc aeroworks because I like how solid and overbuilt it is, and all of the attention to details. My friend has a QQ and the build quility is not at the same level IMO. The AW is heavier, and its a fact the QQ is better for 3d, but I would rather have better crafted plane that will last......871

Which AW did you order? I feel the same about the build quality and I know that the AW will weigh a little more, but I can get the CF accessories and loose a lot of that and I would rather have a better built airframe, it will last a lot longer IMO. Both of my AW planes are two years old and they still look new. |

luv2fly, You are more than welcome to buy any airplanes that you would like. What amazes me is opening number of threads on RCU and here, expressing your disappointment in something you've never owned before! I guess I spent enough time answering your PM. The 102" QQ-Yak is a proven airplane and most likely the most sold 100cc plane in the market but again that doesn't mean other airplanes are junk! Buy whatever you like but don't make a disappointment out of something you've never owned! If you are happy with what you have, I just can't find any reason for you to look for something else! I didn't answer your last PM because still I am not sure what your intentions are by certain things that you bring up and ask! If it aint broke, don't fix it. Buy what you have your faith in. I assure you we won't go broke

I don't understand are you dissapointed or just trying to figure out what you want to buy. The qq 101" is at the top of my list so if you've found something wrong. I'd be intrested.

never in a million years would i thought i would've seen a thread that put the AW yak over the QQ in quality! hey, to each his own but i am certain that there is less mixing and coupling issues with the QQ. both will be great but wow, i thought the QQ would win this debate hands down. just my $.02 |

Nicely said Reza, I have a QQ 102" Yak in my fleet for two years now, and it still gets flown regularly. It is truly a "Do It All Very Well" Airplane. QQ planes fly very well. Aeroworks is a very good airplane as well. Like you said, it does weigh a little more, and it flies great too. (I had a AW 100cc Extra 260) IMHO the QQ edges out the AW.

I would say if I were to choose between an aeroworks yak and a QQ yak, I would get the QQ without ever have flown one. I had the aeroworks and IMO, it flew like a hunk of crap with wings. I worked on that thing for a solid year to get it to fly right, gave up, and sold it. I have flown a couple aeroworks 260s and they were night and day from the yak. The extra flies amazingly well, but the yak ruined me. I have only heard that the QQ yak flies great, and only have seen one fly, but it flew great. I hate to be "that guy" that says don't buy this or don't buy that, so I won't do it. I'm just saying my experience with the aeroworks yak was not pleasant at all. I'm much happier with my 260 now.

This is where I have problem with the title of the thread and the way he brings up this matter! luv2fly has never owned an aircraft from QQAC. He's trying to find out if he should be concerned about the airplane longevity! Which is a valid question but I have seen his threads expressing disappointments and such with a conclusion of him buying AW! Just doesn't sound right! I have never abused any other airframe I have had more than my 102" G2 and it's still in great shape after almost 2 years but then again I don't like to express my personal experience because it is seen biased! Not every airframe is perfect! There can be flaws here and there that you will find with any airplane company in the market!

I have a first generation QQ yak 102 with over 700 flights(4 years old). I've recovered it now twice. I've had two deadsticks into the bean fields, knocked an elevator off and the gear off twice. It still flies light and tracks great. It's my favorite plane to practice 3D and IMAC with both. I have no experience with the Aeroworks yak. Jim
