Has anyone flown the East R/C 30% Edge 540? I assume it is a good plane if East R/C is a sponsor of FG. Why is the R/C market seemingly flooded with Extras and Yaks? Don't get me wrong, I like these planes, but manufacturers of an Edge seem to be few and far between. QQ, AeroWorks, and the other established names don't have one. Knowing this, should I stay away from the Edge? I just replaced all the Katana's servos with HiTec HS-7955TG, and a HS-5475HB on the throttle, so I won't be buying a plane soon. Just asking. If it helps, I don't do 3D. I fly (or should I say attempt) pattern. Its harder than it looks on my Aresti sheet... Oh yeah, what is huckin? Please forgive, I'm a noob. I see it comes to my town October 24-26. |

Jay When the Edge first started in the RC would everyone loved it, It was the latest and greatest and then after a while it seemed that it was a good 3D plane but not a good pattern plane for IMAC and other competition, Because of the straight leading edge wing the judges could see more mistakes and corrections that was made by the pilot. Still a great plane. Hucking is just all out 3D down on the deck flying and do you own thing, Make time for the Huckfest and you will have a great time. milton Last edited by RCEXTREMEPOWER; 08-18-2008 at 08:07 PM. |

its a great plane.. we fly it over here(in singapore).. the edge and extra are very nice to fly... just watch out for the centre part of the fuse.. its a bit soft and could use some re-inforcements.... but the hardware is great and flies really well....

Anyone else flying it in the States? I'm looking at this one plus the Edge's from PAU, Precision Aerobatics, AirWild and of course the WildHare V2. I know the WH is forgiving and flies well (I sold my WH 540T V1 approx 3 yrs ago) and has good visibility in the sky, but I saw one again yesterday. I'd forgotten how incredibly ugly the canopy attachment looks...the big flange of dark smoke tinted canopy extending onto the white UltraCote if painful to look at. Yes, it matters. |

A little white electrical tape works wonders.

Thanks, Al. Yeah, if I went that way, I would probably blend it with white Ultracote so I could cover the entire front flange. Otherwise, I wonder how the other Edges compare to Tom's V2? |

I have been flying the PAU Edge for over two years now and it certainly won't disappoint! I have both the 30% and 36% versions and they both ROCK!! PAU's hardware kits are the best in the business! Customer service is tops as well! As for your assumptions about "sponsors of F.G."........ you have heard what ass-u-me rreally means, right? ALWAYS do your homework and research before spending your hard-earned hobby dollars! There are many reputable hobby-oriented companies out there and some not-so-reputable Not making any judgements about any particular companies here, just saying do your own research and make your OWN decision!!! That is just part of my personal satisfaction when buying anything. That way I only have myself to blame if I buy a lemon!!! (BTW, I used to fly a GEN 1 WH and I much prefer the PAU!! I have no experience with the GEN 2 WH) Good luck with your decision! Regards, Astrohog Last edited by astrohog; 10-26-2008 at 10:30 PM. Reason: add info to qualify my opinion |

| Here's some video of the East R/C Edge... It's sold by a few people around the world. The video is from Spain. I have the same Edge. Almost ready to fly. 15lbs 9oz 88" Wing 1465sqin Wing Area with a DL50 stock muffler and Hitec 985's all round. The kit is very complete with good hardware. It's metric, that's the only negative.
