Default Looking To Purchase Yak

Hey there, new to the this forum and seems to have a lot of knowledge . I have been set on two Giants, one being the Yak 54 from Aeroworks QB and the other the new Hanger 9 Yak 27%. I've been been fling RC plans and helis for a number of years; however this will be my first Big Scale.. so I am really excited to get into the big scales.

What are your thoughts on both of these kits? What kits are better built for performance and quality? I really like what the Aeroworks kits which come with a great hardware and material package and didn't seem to much on the Hanger 9. Seems like the Hanger 9 are a bit more on the HIGH production side However the Carden designs I've been a fan of from reading post and feedback.

I will be using a DA 50cc with the the kit since the weight is a bit lower then the 3W engines.

Thanks for advise in advance..

Look at this one too.
http://www.qqaircraft.com/planes.asp...&s_PLANE_CAT=d

The H9 is heavy, and although I've only seen one, it was a letdown as far as H9 goes. Loose covering, bracing that was broken, poor gluing. For the money it was a disappointment, just in all the extra work required to make it solid. It still flies exceptionally well with a DA on it, but the extra couple of days worth of work to get it flying really took it down a notch. The guy who owns it thinks it was just poor QC at the factory.

The H9 is very light and will fly circles around and aeroworks.

Thanks for some of the input; anyone else have any thoughts? In addition I want to stay under the $1400 price range for the kit and plane. Will this narrow my results a bit? Thanks guys
3DHeatsheildI haven't seen these before, thoughts on the link you sent?http://www.qqaircraft.com/planes.asp..._PLANE_CAT=dIs the hardware kit a good package and weight of the aircraft, what about comparison to the Aeroworks?

What to focus on the following kits:QQ, EF, Aeroworks. I really like the EF kits and color scheme. Does this kit go together fairly good?

Pilotck,

By far hands down go with the Extreme Flight Yak.

I have personally seen all of the Yaks you mentioned.

The Extreme Flight has the lightest wingloading in its class. It also has a glassed-in canopy. The workmanship is the best of all of them Chris Hinson has this one honed in.

Do yourself a favor - in the 50CC class this the best Yak!!!
I would not recommend the SD models Yak. Its OK but it comes out heavier and the workmanship is not up to par with the Extreme Flight not even close!!! The paint will fade on the SD and the canopy will give you a head ache..and the gear is soft and so on...These are not issues with the Extreme Flight...
Oh FWIW - the canopy is completed on the EF Yak. The canopy on the SD you have to glue or screw it onto the canopy frame - its a pain..Did I mention that the EF Yak is the Bomb! Yes it is!!!

EF Yak flys better and lets you progress faster because it does fly better!!
It excells in 3D most of all!!!

Ronster

You cant go wrong with any of the three you chose. The difference between the quality of the three? I believe that Quique builds his planes with more structure and a stronger design. The difference between the three will be as close as the next one produced by the same manufacturer.
