Default H9 Carden Yak Engine Poll

I am trying to decide which engine to use. I bought a 58 after reading through the build thread. It seems that the 58 weighs quite a bit more than a DA 50. So now I am wondering which engine to use. I have a DA-50 laying here also. So I can easily go either way.

I flew mine with the the evolution 58 with the pitts, and I have seen the DA-50 with pitts fly. I am not quite sure what mine weighed with the evolution 58 but I do know that even though the evolution 58 weighs more it puts out so much more power. The evolution 58 is the perfect engine for this airplane and would recommend the 58 to anyone!!!!!!!!!!!

i think all the motors above would be a great choice , but man your cuttin yourself short by not thinking about some of the others. I have this H9 Yak and i decided on a BME 58cc. I looked for the lightest , most powerful motor you could get and this is what i came up with. the DA and DL have been proven to be an awesome combination for this airplane as well. The evolution 58..some guys like it , some guys don't. I don't really care for evo motors , but the DA and DL would be fine. There are a lot more than what i mentioned , but i don't think there is another motor in this size range ( 50cc-60cc) that will touch the BME 58 for weight and power.

Honestly the best performance is from the Evolution 58 on this plane. Would not go any other way. Don't worry about the extra weight. This is an 89'' plane that's already pretty light.

agree 100% no question - I first used a ZDZ50ng in my toc 30% which is the same size - but when I put the 58 it was miles better!!!- with the bigger 24x10 prop the flow over the cowl and the control surfaces was just so much better!!

I think his point is he has the Evolution and DA right now. Probably doesn't want to buy another engine to have laying around.
