Default ARF for 150cc Around 36 LBS.

I'm just curious if anyone knows of an ARF (wood or composite) that would come out around 36 lbs. with a 150cc up front?

I think I carefully built Dalton comes out around that.

Daltons aren't sold as ARF's.

Man oh Man I wish!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's a pretty tall order!!

Dalton or a probuilt Carden!!

Check out Mike3CD's 40% SD Yak..

I will tell you it is extremely difficult to get any 37.5 to 40%er to come out at 36 lbs...

Everything as lite as can possibly be and Carbon everywhere!! its not impossible just alot of mods that you or a pro will proabably have to do...

now with that said -

The Comp Arf Giles 202 will come out at about 37ish with DA-150(its on the small side of 40%) and no Smoke tank stuff - no pipes.. Because it is small as 40%ers go it's wingloading is kinda high. Probably not the best 3D machine in the world but IMAC vert penetration is good - rudder coupling is less but its still there not as bad as Extra's though... G202 is not what I would recommend for unlimited though good enough for Advanced - IMHO.....

Just some ideas...IMHO...

Dietrich 260 is a shade under 37 with aluminum wing tube and a couple extra pieces of wood for fuse side doublers after a repair. 3D's like a MF! The proto of the new Slick was 37.5lbs

Haven't flown it. Only one out there right now. I saw it in person at Joe Nall and had to have one. I expect it to be nothing but better than my 260 and my extra is awesome.I pre-ordered one almost two months ago and can't wait until next month for it to get here. My buddy ordered one as well so we should be able to beat 'em up pretty good and see what they're made of. It's going to be fun!

Thanks for the mention Ron.
We did get my 40% SD Models Yak54 down to 36lbs....but let me say that although it started life as an arf, there wasnt much arf left after we got done with it. With that said, it IS POSSIBLE to get a plane down to these lighter weights and still be strong enough to handle todays demands of hardcore flying, IMAC or 3D. It is just a matter of how and what you are willing to do to get it there. Our little group here in SanAntonio, TX all have done lightening mods to our planes, and they ALL fly BETTER than they did before.
This list includes....
1.Sensei's 40% Carden 260 w/ DA100 @ 28lbs. (custom built)(THE ONE THAT STARTED IT ALL)
2.My 40% SD Models Yak54 w/DA170 @ 36lbs. (highly modified arf)
3.Bret's 40% Carden 330 w/DA150/can's @ 32lbs. (custom built)
4.Georges 40% Carden 330 w/DA150/can's @37lbs. (lightly modified after built)
5.Byron's 35% Aeroworks Yak54 w/DA100 @ 24lbs. (lightly modified arf)
Here are the links to the builds to planes 1,2 and 4, the other 2 chose not to post there builds.
40% 260 on a Diet
SD Models 40% YAK
7.2 lbs taken out of a Carden Extra 330 40%

Enjoy, and good luck with whatever you choose.
