Hey Guys, Looking for opinions here. I am looking at 35% (ish) Yaks. I want something ARF and based upon that, I only really like color schemes from Composite-Arf and Toc-Xtreme/SD/Aviation models. As luck would have it, with the exception of MAYBE the extreme flight or QQ Yaks, these seem to be the best choices performance wise too. Anyway, I plan on flying it mostly for fun, but may get back into IMAC type flying as well. In general which would be a better choice for flight characteristics, durability (never worked on a composite plane before), maintenance etc. I love the looks of the comp-arf planes and you have to love the signature squeeling sound in rolls, but I've also read a lot of good things abotu the TOC-Xtreme/SD/Avitation Yaks too. I have seen several of each listed for sale used that looked good to me, just not sure which would suit me better. I guess what it comes down to is that they are both very good planes, I'm just looking for input as to what most people's choice would be, and WHY. Thanks in advance guys! Todd |

| for the $ spent I do not think that you could beat a SD 35% Yak , it will take anything that you could throw at it and keep going . I have one with a ZDZ 120 and fuse mufflers ,does wicked 3D ,and will do IMAC with a flip of the switch. A couple of friends have theirs with DA's in them and love them also . my$.02

Look at the Extreme Flight Yak...for a 100cc plane...there is nothing bigger...nothing better and the customer service is the best in the land.

There all good flying planes. I think the Composite airframes hold up alot longer and ARF planes are only good for a season or two. Just my 2 cents

durabilty is a main question I have about composite planes... my twin brother that has had a comp-arf estra said they are fragile, but I've had other people say they are more durable...any input??

I know wildhare and extreme flight and a lot of other places have good planes... I am looking for something lightly used because I have a habit of buying new planes and never finishing building them. I just want to buy something basically ready to fly to get me in the air, and then I can consider buying something brand new and building it while I am flying the used plane. So I am more or less at the mercy of what I find for sale on rcu, or here etc... and most of what I have seen that I like are either comp-arf or toc-xtreme.

I call them the egg shell airplanes, I have see lot of them crack up on hard landing. Wood is good. I would go with Krill, they are made differently. Wood is Good. Zee |

Composite is very easy to fix and alot more durable I think. The squeal is awesome too. It would fly circles around most planes. Its the only plane I have flown with out a knife edge mix.

35% or 40% airplane are not designed to be landed hard. They made to fly light. Besides most large scale planes almost land themselves.
