The QQ 101 looks like an awesome flier, but I chose the AW 104" 260. It can be built light and can easily CG with an 85 if that is the engine you choose. I Have had the AW 260 with a BME 110, a big electric, and now a new 260 with a DA-100. It came out very noseheavy with the batts in the stock location, so noseheavy in fact that I ended up with the batts all the way in the tail! This is actually a good thing because that means that it will be easier to balance with an 85, and be lighter!!! I did some work to my 260, and added a full carbon suit, and ended up at 25.7 pounds. That means I could have potentially finished at 24.5 pounds with an 85! I still recommend a twin, though, as they are smoother running engines so the airframe doesn't wear out so fast.

Come on BW, don't you know that the grass is always greener? The one you don't have and can not afford is always better that the one you do have that you could afford? Isn't it easier to afford a 5000 sq ft house than a 1600 sq ft'er? ps I am right there with you....I love my 260, I am curious about the 300, but it would take quite an aircraft to pull me away from my AW 260... |

Agreed. Whatever is the latest is always the greatest in the R/C world, it seems. I have seen the 300 close up. I have seen the flying video. And that is about as much experience as anyone can possibly have with that 300. Unless the two people that voted for the 300 so far are Mark Dennis and Rocco Mariani, then the votes are about as useless as tits on a bull. I am sure the 300 will be nice, but only time will tell - it will be heavier than the 260 by a pound or so - that much I know, and that's enough for me to lean toward the 260.

BW, what are the odds that things have changed on the 260 since you bought yours and I won mine last year during the summer? The reason I ask is yours seems to have a weight problem ( placement ). I am not into really wild 3d at the moment, but my balance with a DA-100 is almost perfect. The batteries are 2 in the back bay under the hatch and one for the ignition in the middle. I have 2 7955s in a pull pull setup. Flies better than any airplane I have ever owned.. |

Yeah I got lucky. At our fly in we raffled an AW 260 and I was very lucky to win. I looked at buying one before I bought my WH 300. It was a little more than the WH and the shipping compounded the issue. Cheaper from Dallas area than from Denver. You can not go wrong with either plane. Its hard to put into words why I think the AW flies better than the WH. They are equipped almost identically. Both have DA-100, both have 2 rx packs and one ignition pack. The AW has 7955s and thew WH has 5955s. THe WH has a JR8711 and the AW has 2 7955s on the rudder. The AW has a PE Sport and the WH has an EQ10 |

Ya know, I kinda look at it this way. The plane that responds the best to my commands and abilities, does all that I ask of it without giving me problems, weighs in light, and is affordable, is the one that hits the top of my list. Unfortunately it's not on the hit list above. Wild Hare 35% Edge 540. Don't let a price tag a bunch lower than all the others fool you. It's a superb plane. If you just gotta have a little more precision look at their new 35% 260.

I,d say go to valleyrc.com and look at the TT TOC 35% yak or 260 with a DL 100 combo deal. TT TOC planes are lite, fly great, 5 star workmanship and the cost is icing on the cake. The DL is alot of engine for the money! Check it out. www.carolinaskydancers.com RutnBuc PS The SD models are now TT Or Thunder Tiger Which is imported by Ace Hobbies.
