Default Exclusiv Modellbau Decathlon Kits

Greetings:

I am considering purchasing one of the Exclusiv Modellbau Decathlon kits and am looking for someone who has had experience with them.

I am interested in the XL version. So far this looks to be the best scale version of this particular airplane. The other kits I have found do not appear to be close enough to scale to consider.

I would greatly appreciate any help.

Thanks.

This Super Decathlon is ideal for the real giant scale enthusiast looking for an aerobat but can also be a gentle Sunday flyer at the same time. At normal throttle settings, it does all of the standard aerobatics as its full scale counterpart. At full throttle, it really tracks well and has a very good steady vertical climb. Its low wing loading makes it also quite stable and predictable on landings.

Kit Description
  • All parts are laser-cut.
  • All fuselage sides, top and bottom parts are interlocked for easy, accurate assembly.
  • Impossible to build this fuselage crooked.
  • Both stab panels are "plug-in type" for transport convenience.
  • Ample room and easy access for any radio gear installation, ignition system, fuel/smoke tanks with its side opening door.
  • "Plug-in" wing design for transport convenience.
  • Scale hinging of the ailerons like its full-scale counterpart.
  • The wing panels are built over a supplied jig: Impossible to build them crooked.
  • All plug-in tubes are 6061-T6, 0.049’’ (wing) and 0.035" (stabs)
  • All ribs are laser-cut for simplicity and accuracy.
  • Cowling, wheel pants, cockpit dash and wing tips are made using a White primer gel-coat and hand lay using S-glass fabrics.
  • All critical attachment points are laser-marked or cut.
  • 178 page building manual with large fonts, more than 220 building pictures/3-D images.
  • Plotter-printed windshield templates.
