This is one of my Best Friends in the modeling world. Warren Cross. He typically builds a few planes a year. This was his latest that I only saw when it was in the box. He sent me the pictures of his maiden flight since I wasn't in Vegas anymore to see it. The kit is powered with a 3W70 on a cannister. And knowing him, it has JR servos and a spektrum outfitted RX. Said it was just over 36lbs DSC_0180.jpg DSC_0184.jpg DSC_0017.jpg DSC_0018.jpg DSC_0020.jpg DSC_0021.jpg DSC_0022.jpg DSC_0023.jpg DSC_0024.jpg DSC_0033.jpg DSC_0038.jpg DSC_0039.jpg DSC_0040.jpg DSC_0041.jpg DSC_0042.jpg DSC_0043.jpg DSC_0044.jpg

So do I. I wish I could get back to Vegas and fly this thing. He's already promised some stick time the next time I'm in town!

I had the honor of putting the maiden flight on this beauty... There was a whopping 3 mph gale blowing straight down the runway, and the temp was a bone chilling 70 degs. and not a cloud in the sky! So, what the heck. I throttled up the mighty 3W 75, and the tail came up immediately, and that Fokker(sp?) was airborne in it"s own length, approx 6 ft. The plane flys prototypically, i.e., a piece of cake! Nice and slow and very stable. The landing speed was no more than a brisk walk!.. Durng the 2nd flight, everybody got a turn on the sticks, and no one was disappointed! So, Sweetpee, I think you'll be OK with it; at least with close supervision!.. Old Dawg, Long Live Team Vegas! |

HI GUYS, SANTA JUST BROUGHT ME ONE OF THESE 1/3 FOKKER D-7 KITS FOR CHRISTMAS. WHAT A MONSTER!!! I CAN'T WAIT TO GET BUILDING. DOES ANYONE KNOW IF THE OUTLINE OF THIS BALSA USA D-7 IS PRETTY SCALE???? I WAS GOING TO TRY TO BUILD IT AS SCALE AS POSSIBLE. I CAN SEE THAT IT HAS FLAT BOTTOM WINGS WHEN THE REAL FOKKER HAD CURVED BOTTOM WINGS. ALSO, I KNOW THE KIT BOX SAYS 40-45LB & 50-80CC ENGINE, BUT I AM GOING TO TRY TO FLY IT W/ A SUPER TIGRE 4500. I THINK I CAN GET THE WEIGHT DOWN A LITTLE BIT. I'M USED TO GLOW ENGINES. I DON'T THINK A SINGLE CYLINDER 4 STROKE GLOW ENGINE EXISTS THAT IS BIG ENOUGH FOR THIS PLANE. CAN ANYONE ADVISE. THANKS SO MUCH |

If u go real slow and try to cut out as much extera wood etc,u can get it down to the mid to hi 30s. Use Jerry Nelson lit fab and dont paint anything that do need it. Mine was 35.2 pds. With eqp as stated by sweetpee above. Follow the building book to the letter and u will b rewarded witha fine flying and good looking plane. I f u desire to ask me anything about the plane e mail me at wlcross@hotmail.com,and I will be very happy to help you or anwser any questions that may pop up. I am the builder of the plane. ![]()
