Aeroworks 260, all around. I liked my h9 260 but I wouldn't pay $1199 for another one. You can find them cheaper, NIB if you shop around - it is KILLER for IMAC, but quality is so-so compared to aeroworks. The qq yak is also hard to beat. I'd stay away from any kind of Edge if you will be strictly IMAC - there is a reason why you don't see to many of them at contests...

BW--you need to fly the Edge. Its actually very good at IMAC. It doesn't fly like a typical Edge but more like an Extra in precision. I had no problem at all doing stalls with it on the very first time on the sticks and I suck at IMAC

I'd agree with the AW-260, it's a good price, and they are a great quality. I've had 2 AW's and loved them both. I've picked up a QQ python for IMAC next season, and if you like bipes, it's my understanding they have the lowest coupling of any out there... There's 2ft of snow here, so I can't speak from experience yet | ||||||||||||||||||

If you are looking for somthing for IMAC only, there are 3 planes that I would recomend: (1) EF 110" Yak 54. EF's quality, flight performance, and looks are second to none! I have had great experience with there planes, and Chris is a great guy, who really knows how to make excelent aircraft! (2) QQ 101" Yak 54. This is going to be the most inexpensive of the 100cc size planes, because it uses an 85cc engine. With the DA 85 and canister, it will have more power than the original 102 with a 100. Great flying plane, and the quality is great to. (3) QQ Python. The Python is by far the best biplane for IMAC and 3D. My good friend Seth Arnold said that the Python would actualy be better in IMAC than the 102 if set up right. It will take longer to set up though. Again, great quality too. There are a lot of great planes out there now! It's hard to go wrong. These are just what I would recomend. Just my $0.02, Daniel |

probably can't go wrong with any of the QQ planes. i bet we will continue to see more and more of the pythons flying in imac. i would assume that the imac setup for this plane would be the 100cc motor not the 85. i don't own one of these but have flown a couple and i really enjoy them. VERY low coupling and very stable in any attitude. and heck, like QQ says, the biplanes just present better to judges because you can always see wing!

As those that fly IMAC and have flown either the 43% 0r 36% Edge from PAU can attest: PAU's Edges will perform well in IMAC. PAU has worked their design magic and have one of the best precision Edges out there. I believe there will be at least a few of them competing in N.W. Imac this year and I think they look to be VERY competitive!! there is a post in the 43% PAU build and fly thread in PAU's support forum by Macanaw where he took his 43% to (I think the N.W. "Twin Falls Tumble" (Idaho)) IMAC and it took first or second in three divisions, with three pilots, two of whom had never flown the plane till that day!! Yes, there are many choices out there, good luck with your decision, and remember.......PRACTICE,PRACTICE,PRACTICE!!!!!! Regards, Astrohog |
