Man - I went to college at Walla Walla U for 2 years out there & never saw any planes like this! Do you fly over at the park in town, or is there a better/bigger place to fly from?

Hi Rappy, There are only 3 or 4 of us that fly the larger gas planes. I do usually fly at the field at Ft Walla Walla park. The airspace does get a bit tight with the bigger planes, but it is managable. There are a couple of private fullscale airfields that we can use and Frog Hollow R/C now has a pretty decent runway out in Touchet. Usually in the winter I don't fly as I am snowmobiling and most of the larger planes will get only a shakedown flight then then back in the trailer for out of town flying for the rest of the summer.

About the plane, it is an Airworld kit with a 250 moki on it. Forward Air let the crate get a bit wet during the storms/flooding they were having. Luckily I picked it up right away and got it dried out quickly. The original builder was John Monaghan. (I must compliment his skills as he did a wonderful job!) The plane is getting a new suite of servos/wiring, 2.4 921 receiver, an update to a123 batteries , a cockpit kit installed, some medicore repairs from a gear incident cleaned up , (sorry scale purists) some yellow highlights on the wingtips and rudder as my eyes just don't seem to work like they used too!
Right now I have pretty much everything stripped out of the plane and am working on putting it back together. Hopefully this weekend I will get the motor running- Unless there is fresh snow then???

Wow - that Moki should sound sweet! Get video & post it here when it gets out flying

I was out there from 92-94 to finish up a BSME degree & flew nitro planes over at Ft. Walla Walla. There was a bit of glider flying on a ridge out torwards Whitman Mission that was fun too. My senior project was designing a mid-engine Cessna 172 & making a "scale" model of it... and then flew it after the presentation. Fun building, but my Thanksgiving and Christmas break were staying home and building the plane. Good times!

Been slacking off a bit and working on my Python. I completely dissassembled everthing in the plane, and just about have everything back in. Put the cockpit kit in today...
