Question thinking about a new Pilot-rc Extra 260

Yeah, I did a search. ever try to lookup 'pilot' and 'rc' on here... good luck!

Anyways, Time for a new 50CC class extra. Looking at PAU, EF, and now Pilot-rc. If the specs on their site are to be believed, 15.8#, i'm ready to jump on this one...

Anybody have any experience they may be willing to share?

Looking at a DA or DL-50 for power.

thanks!
Twangy

Twangmaster,
I took advantage of Tony's combo kit with free shipping,if order was placed before Jan1.2009.I placed my order with Tony on Dec 29th,for a 87" Extra 260 30%'er in the Yellow-Black Hunter color scheme, with the 57 MT engine, carbon fiber wing tubes, landing gear, spinner, ect! At the time I placed my order and paid my deposit, they did not have enough of the Oracover in black, and Tony told me it would be the middle of February before I would get my plane.Fine with me,as I was still buying all the other goodies I need for this massive upgrade, including JR 2.4 9303 transmitter,AR 9100 Fail Safe receiver, and other essentials Santa didn't deliver.Tony then informed me a week later, that he could finish my order, and my kit would be ready in 2-3 days time.
My kit was shipped to me on Jan 18th,from China and arrived here in Illinois on Jan 21st.It arrived in two plywood boxes and once opened, the contents all looked great. The covering on the wings and fuse is specatcular, not one wrinkle,or bubble anywhere! For the $1089.00 I paid for this kit(including shipping),it puts my mind at ease in doing future buys from Pilot-Rc,after some of the horror stories I've read about buying these large expensive kits, only to see poor workmanship and quality of the building materials. If you want to see pics of the crating and the pieces inside,I can take some for you. They are packaged VERY,VERY WELL,and the workmanship is second to none.I cannot wait until I get the servoes and electrical system determined(still undecided on LiPo,or A123) and get this baby airborne this spring. From my experience, you should be more than satisfied with their planes and quality of materials, and workmanship.

I am in the process of building a 37.5% Pilot-RC Yak. I can tell you the quality of the build is fantastic. It comes with all the carbon fiber goodies that some others charge for. The custom scheme is a great option. Tony is extremely responsive with emails, and sent me pictures all through the construction process. I couldn't be more happy with the plane. I hope to finish it up next weekend. See my thread for info.
