Anyone with first hand knowledge of these two planes? Just looking for opinions and setups that you are familair with. Price is not a factor. I was thinking if I get the Sukhoi I would go with a Da85 on a pipe or Da100 on cans. If I go with the Yak then Da100 on a pipe or 3W 106 or 110. What does the hive mind think? |

After having the Sukhoi and flying a buddy's TOC yak I would say TOC all the way. The yak is more stable in all attitudes and has no coupling on knife edge at all. My Sukhoi flys fine but took a lot more to trim (mix) out correctly. I have nothing against Wildhare planes, my next plane will be their 35% EDGE. |

I had the 35% Su as well. It required alot of mixing as well. Others have been luckier with less. I'd still get the Su over a TOC based on the companies though. Too many name/owner changes with TOC for me.

It (coupling and mixing) really depends on a lot of other forces, particularly balance and thrust angle. Changing other stuff almost always affects coupling and once the mixing is done, you're finished unless something else changes. I do have a question for 3dsoulfly. Where are you? I'm curious about the hobby shop that claims to have on on the way. TF

TOC planes fly great but I agree when it come to dealing with companies, that's why my next plane will be from Wildhare.

It is Thunder Tiger TOC now. I don't think they will be going anywhere now that Ace Hobby is carring the TOC line. But I don't have any first hand knowledge myself. My buddy has the 50cc Yak and loves it. It was beautful right out of the box. Went together very fast. Cover was/is great. He has had it about 2 months now. I am waiting on my 40% Yak based on his experience.

I have never had someone let me fly their plane and come back with a good feeling about it no matter what plane it is, there's always something different about the way I like my plane set up. And even if the setup is perfect it takes several flights to get the feel of a plane and what it can do. TF

People that fly my planes always say they feell tail heavy and have too much elevator. They might find the roll rate too fast or too slow and the rudder too sensitive. I fly theirs and I think they fly like a lead sled. They might say that they need to mix this or that to fly their kind of line with my plane, where flying thier's I find that same mix intolerable.
