 |  Putting Smoke in the new 50cc Ultimate 20-300
I am considering putting smoke in the new 50cc Ultimate when I start putting it together. Space is at a premium. So I am looking for ideas and maybe even some photos of how to do this. I realize no one has done this plane yet, but photos of maybe something similar. I have never done smoke before, so anything helps. Here are a couple of photos from the aeroworks website showing the interior space. Thanks |

I'm planning to put smoke on mine and I should be pretty high on the list to get one. If no one else posts any pics, I'll take a few for you. My first thought is to put the pump in the area in front of the tanks, but I'll have to see about the balance. JT

Looking at the assembly manual again, putting the pump inside the front hatch could work. I might use a light weight LiPo battery to power the pump. Have not decided that part yet. Or maybe the receiver batteries. I will be using 2x A123 1100 packs going into an AR9100 receiver. The power is there and the receiver can easily handle the current. The receiver batteries can be mounted back by the rudder servo where the regulator in the photo sits. Since I will not be using a regulator. |

I used two B&B 16oz Mastertanks and turned them on the side. I put the smoke pump (Sullivan Skywriter) in the area in front of the tanks and powered it off the ignition battery (A123 1100 mah) with a separate switch. This smoke pump has a very low power draw and the ignition battery has plenty of capacity. Balance came out just right and the system puts out awesome smoke. 16 oz is plenty of fluid. I have the pump rate mixed with the throttle and it pumps 6oz per minute at full throttle and runs at minimal speed at idle. JT

Hi JT, I have the sullivan skywriter as well. I am not at that part of the assembly yet, but would it be possible for you to post a photo of the pump and location. Thanks Brad |
