Default Sub 16 pound IMAC capable 50cc Airframe

OK, I know, lots of threads on this subject, but, I am so tired of drama I just can't read through them anymore. Hears the scoop; I picked up one of the new China motors. I don't want to put it on the airframe that I've been thinking about buying. In fact I don't want to put it on any of the 3 airframes I've been thinking about. So I am looking for an airframe that I can get in the air at or under 16 pounds. Don't care what it is except I want it to be IMAC legal and fly pretty well. Yes I 3D and yes I want to get into free-style but right now I just want to get a gasser in the air. Maybe there's an airframe I haven't herd of, I don't know. Any info will help.

My QQ yak 86" with a DA tops the scales at just over 16 pounds rtf with fuel. That is with oversize lipos and about 4 oz. of lead in the nose, as well as a beefed up engine box.

Dunno what exactly you hope to find or what you've looked at, but it works just fine for me.

Thats a great weight. Let me explain a bit. I picked up a cheep engine and I don't trust it enough to put on a high dollar airframe. So I am looking for a low cost airframe, not junk, to put it on and see if I can get it running worth are darn. My dream plane in the 50cc range will come from EF or PAU but not with this engine.

Tom I have a Midwest Extra that I would consider selling to you with the servos for a good deal. Here's how it flew on a Brison 3.2:

Take a look at Pilot RC, a buddy just maidened a 50cc yak 54 sunday with a Brison 3.2 also....14# and change. It flies very well, and is a very well built airplane with superb customer service to boot. Im thinking about getting one cause my 40% yak is just cumbersome to take every trip to the field.
It needs just a touch of KE mix..but still flew great, it gets my vote for a 50cc.

Hey Ryan; sent you a pm.
Ya Mike, I have and am looking hard at the Pilot planes, just don't want to hang this engine on a plane I might fall in love with. If the engine turns out to be a good one then it will be a different story. Same with the Wildhare and the PA Edge, nice planes but not until I see if this engine is worth a hoot.
Thanks for the info guys.

Yep, that is a great way to look at it. I learned my lesson a long time ago about cheap airframes. But I also learned my lesson about the guys that hang out here on the FlyingGiants forum. I just got more then I was looking for at a very fair price and it all happened while I took my Velox out for some exercise. Thanks Ryan. I love this site. Everyone I have dealt with has been so fine. What a lucky guy I am.......................

any chance of saying what engine it is?
If it were me, i would sell the engine and get the plane you want. better than spending more money on something you dont want. in the end you will prob spend nearly the same amount with servos and the rest of it than if ya just buy right at the start.

you wont be happy to just get it in the air, when it's in the air you will want more!
if you just want quick cheap fun, maybe get a second hand frame?
