Havent ever had my hands on an Extreme yet, heard its nice though. My TOC/SD 40% Yak is top notch, and I would give the newer TOC line a look, a buddy has the 35% 260 and its really nice too. JMO Mike

I am actually debating those two and what ended it was weight. Pilot 14.5 pds, Extreme flight 18 pds +, 4 POUNDS is night and day especially at 5000asl on a 50cc. The extreme flight is huge and flys awesome.....but it sounds like a roided out 50cc with a pipe is the setup it needs. The pilot is light enough that a dl50 with a muffler would be more than enough power for serious 3d, and it is a much higher level of completion for an ARF. I know i really did'nt help much just a few things I based my decision on. 871

Same buddy has the Pilot 50cc yak with a Brison 3.2, and at 14#...it was ballistic...nice plane too.

Holy smokes..Pilot RC is light. I'll take my EF Yak any day but I'm also at 800 feet. Also the DL-50 with the stock muffler pulls this 17#, 12 oz Yak around effortlessly. Pulls out of a hover no problem. But yeah, kudos to Pilot for making it so light. Can't even imagine 14#.

I agree that it comes down to the one that I want but nice to get other opinions. I like the Pilot rc and the feed back that I have recieved about it so far. I think that they are both great. |

I've flown both the SD and the EF 50cc Yaks. Both fly very well. The new Pilot Yak is an upgraded version of the SD. The weight between the two is what makes the winner in this case and provides a clear advantage using a stock exhaust 50cc engine..
