I highly reccomend the EF Extra 300! I just got mine today, and nothing could be built better! This thing is HUGE! I have the 58" Extra, and just love it, and I have flown the 45" Extra as well. Awesome planes!
The Slick is a great plane, BUT, the EF Extra 300 is out of this world!

Josh, please don't get me wrong here. I'm not trying to start a heated debate, I'm just giving my opinion. The EF Extra just fits my flying style perfectly. I'm sure that the Slick fits some other guys style better. They're both great planes though!

SKS, you won't be dissappointed with either, but I can't reccomend the EF Extra enough!

BTW, great videos Josh!

I have the EF extra and it is the best flying plane I have flown.Fantastic precision and effortless 3D. Having said that,I would love to get that Slick. Josh's vids are amazing.

Thanks for the kind words guys. I completely agree that both are really cream of the crop, and you can't go wrong with either.

Just a little more fodder for discussion here . This is my SECOND flight with the plane. The whole flight is UNCUT, so as you can see, no fancy editing was done to enhance the flight characteristics of the plane. The transmitter input is also filmed, which allowed you to see how much (or little) I have to struggle to make the plane looked good. As a side note, I had been working on a single roll circle, but had always screwed up the last quarter of the roll. On my 2nd flight with this plane, I felt comfortable enough to say, "screw it, let's give it a try ." To my amazement, I was doing the most perfect 1 roll circle of my life. I could not believe my own eyes as I was doing it as well. The fuse's generous side area, as well as the nearly coupling free flight characteristics gave great confidence, and makes any kind of rolling maneuver a breeze to perform.

On this video, you can see how durable the landing gear assembly (gear plate, gear and all) holds up as I botched two attempts at rudder slappin' .

So how big is the 89" Slick? Well, in the background is my beloved 35% Dalton Extra 260. The Slick is a touch longer, with more side area, and a taller rudder. Not bad for a 50cc plane .

I can't tell you much about the AJ Slick because I haven't flown one, but from seeing Ben fly it and by watching BoneDoc's videos it looks good. I can tell you the EF Extra is an Awesome Plane. I like it so much I ended up selling my 88" Yak.

i had heard that the slick has a bit of coupleing. jesky wanted to leave the scale looks and left in some coupling, on of my favorite manuvers is KE, and variations of it, which is the few things the katana does REALLY well. i dont want to give up that near coupling free KE.

i also read the slick has a small wing area. but appears to fly VERY floaty. i like that. what is the wing area? how is this big fuse, small wing pulled off? its also several pounds heavier than the katana, but again seems to fly VERY floaty.

ive got many 3dHS planes, but only 1 EF. but no bias, id like the best plane for me.

What are the specs. on this plane? Fuselage length, wing area, ready-to-fly weight, etc?

Like all have said both planes are great flying airplanes. I have really enjoyed created the 89" Slick.
A couple of specs on the Slick

89" Wing Span Not exactly how many squares around 1500 squares.
87" Fuse
Mine right now setup with an ES Composite Pipe, MTW header is right at the 18 pound mark. Like many have said this may sound heavy but this is a huge airplane. I have always tried to make the planes feel much bigger than what they are and this is what I can up with for my creation. The DA-50 is a good match for this plane to keep it nice and light.

BTW, right now I have zero pitch coupling with the Slick and 5% Roll coupling.
Here is a video
