From the ones my friends had it was very, very thin. It cracked easily and came apart from the hatch easily. I understand the reason why though. The plane is built light and the lexan is thin to help keep weight down. For me the price was too high for the scheme and the canopy, both of which I didn't like. But the plane did fly outstanding so you got some pros and cons. For me the cons outweighed the pros

Sam are you talking about the 120" or the 101"/102" birds....or both? I haven't started any builds on any of my 101" i picked up , but just wondering if you had any advice on how to make the canopy's last or hold up better? Was there anything else that the QQ yaks may need a little beefing up on? Last edited by JEFFRO503; 06-11-2009 at 10:14 PM. |

The canopies were weak but could be strengthened, and reglued. On the canopy and cowl I did away with all the blind nuts and redid the cowl mounting arrangement and never had a problem after about 175 flights. The scheme wasnt great but it grew on me since the plane was so good. It showed great in the air. Easy for old eyes. |
