The 103" is new. The 87" has been out for a while and is WAY bad ass, and the 103" promises to be even better. I have both. I have 100+ flights on my 87", and I'm just building the 103". Great plane!

SleepyC, Just finished my 103" Extra 330SC. DA 100 with battery packs at the back of the radio compartment and rudder servos in tail. My CG is towards the aft side of the wing tube. I thought Ben told me the CG should be 140 - 145 mm (approximately 5.5") back from the wing tips. If so, mine comes out 1 - 1 1/2 ahead of that. How did yours balance and have you flown it yet? Regards, |

From the way you put your components, it sounds like it should balance fine. Can you show us a picture of your install? Also, are you measuring it at the root or at the tip? |

Gentleman, Below is a couple of pics. I was measuring on the wing tip as I thought that was where Ben said to measure. However, it does balance about 2/3 of the way back on the wing tube. I have 6 other Extras of various sizes and nearly all balance on the wing tube. Weather was not favorable here today and rain for tomorrow. I can hardly wait to fly it after reading all the good stuff about it. Thanks, Blue Skies & Fair Winds, |

With your rudder servos mounted in the tail and running stock mufflers (no cans) I would plan on actually moving your rx packs further forward on the rudder/rx tray. I'm flying my 103" Extra with a DA-100 on MTW 75 TD cans and rudder servos in the tail and I have my rx/rx packs/regs mounted as far aft on the rudder/rx tray as possible. I have found that if you can get a CG of around 143mm measured at the wing tip from the leading edge the plane will fly nearly hands off inverted. Tim
