Default New Plane

Need some ideas on who to buy an Extra 300 in the 100cc size from. I am currently considering the new Aeroworks model and the Dietrich model that hasn't come out yet that I am aware of. Also want alot of the work done like the qb series from aeroworks because I'm lazy.....LOL

I do know for a 50cc I'm gonna go with the Pau Extra 300sp

I saw the Aeroworks Extra 300 in the yellow and blue scheem and it was a great looking bird. They fly great and are built to last.

Ok-

A little bit of my opinion on Areoworks verses Pilot and TT models kits.
1st - Aeroworks are fine kits - but YES they are heavy - now with that said they are also a little more durable. because they are heavy they are not as friendly in the hi alpha regime department.
hi alpha hariers and hovering are a bit more difficult. Not impossible just require a bit more finesse to pull them off.

2nd - Now the Pilot and TT ARFs are a lighter and will perform better in the hi aplha regime because the they usually sport more square inches and are pound for pound lighter anyway. This equates to better slow airspeed perfomance. Now with that said - they will not stand as much hard landing abuse as a Aeroworks will.

Aeroworks may be a better choice for the lesser experienced folks who are still getting their landings squared away.

My two cents ...

Check out EG aircraft also. I think OMP sells the 100cc midwing extra. I saw and handled the 85cc one last weekend and watched it take some abuse in landing. Built very well and flew well from what I could see. CF gear all the way around as well as CF formers in the framework.

Ron I know you are very knowledgeable but I got to tell you I had a 35% QB 260 first shipment which were said to be a pound heavier than the ones that are out now. Now I have a pilot RC Katana 35%. very light. I have to tell you that the 260 is far easier to harrier and hover. And although pilot RC is working hard on quality they still have a way to go to compare with Aeroworks. The QB 300 is a big 35% and I cant imagine anyone not being happy with one.

I own an Aeroworks 300 and it is a very nice plane. I also own an AW Extra 260. Both planes are very well built, and very durable. They could be considered daily fliers. I also own a Wild Hare and it is a nice plane, but doesn't seem to be as solid. Both of the AW's seem to be easier to land. Heavy? I guess that depends on what you want. I fly at 700' above sea level and all three planes basically have unlimited vertical.

Pick a plane you like the looks of, equip it with the best equipment you can, and I bet you'll think its fantastic.
