I have decided that i want to build a 50cc plane on a budget. I want to fly it at a field close to my house on occasions. I really do not want to spend too much money on the plane since it will rarely be used. I mainly fly the bigger planes at a field further away. Here are my requirements. 1) 3D capable since i can't fly straight anyways. 2) Ultracote or monocote covered. I hate chinacote. 3) Not an Edge or giles. I never liked the planes. 4) Must take cannisters. There is a sound restriction at the field. 5) Probably will use a DL50 unless I can find a DA50 real cheap. Thanks for the help. Smokey |

Extreme Flight 50cc Extra 300 all the way! You'll love it! The covering is fantastic, and it's Ultracote. It has a cannister/pipe tunnel built in. The plane is awesome for 3D, and it flies so precisely that it'll almost make you fly straight! :-) It is one sweet plane! Here's a video of mine: http://www.flyinggiants.com/gallery/...ser=18976&sl=d IMO, you won't find a better 50cc airplane! I have ***0*** complaints about it, and can't get enough of it!

I was hoping to get a plane that was less expensive. I probably will fly at that field maybe less than 4 times a year. Really looking to get the plane done on a budget. Keep the options coming. Thanks Smokey |

Ok...regardless of the number of times flown...a cheap 50cc plane is 400.00...I good EF 50cc plane is 650.00. If I am going to fly 4 times a year..I am going to want a plane that is makes its mark. Get the EF Extra or Yak. There is no better flying 50cc plane, and to top it off, there is no better when it comes to supporting your plane. Now..as far as the engine goes...I prefer DA...but I have heard great things about the DL. If you are going to compromise...do it on the engine. I think you will be happy with the DL-50/DL-55..and it is a little more powerful than the DA-50. Dont skimp on the airframe. Nothing flies worse than a crappy plane.

Smokey, I understand being on a budget. That is normally where I find myself! When I am ready for a different plane but my wallet isn't, I try to find a good used one. If you can find a nice used plane it is normally hundreds less than a new setup but flys just as well. The location is the kicker with a used one since they are hard to ship. Good luck, it almost swap meet season so that might help too.

I'm getting my PAU Extra 300SP Friday so i'll post some pictures for you. I think it's by far the one of the scalest looking 50cc Extras out there. I have not flown one yet, but I hear it flys very very well. It's going to easily rival the best 50cc's on the market. And Pepatrick is right, don't get stuck with a bad flying plane. And yes the DL is a great Engine, Had over 300 flights on mine and never a deadstick or anything. Matt

If you are on a budget why you donīt buy an used one, there are some right here or in RCU that have a good price. Another option could be 35cc line of Aeroworks, they can fly with 50cc engines and their cost is around 500 dollars. A friend of mine has one with DL50 and flies very well, even is 3D capable. I donīt know if they are canister ready. I just have one extra 260 50cc, from Aeroworks, DA 50 with KS canister and at 6000 feet high is flying very well, personally I would recomend them, i just recovered it after the gear was ripped |

Another reason why I want to build a 50cc on a budget is because I will be also building a TT/TOC 35% extra 260 with a DA100 on cannisters. Most of my budget will be going to the bigger plane. Smokey |

Wildhare Extra 260. Seen a couple of them fly and they looked sharp. Had a WH Yak and it was put together and finished about as good as most other brand planes.
