Default Peakmodel SU26m 25% with DLE30 build thread

Last week I ordered a Peakmodel SU26 25%. Should be here sometime this week or next week. There wont be a massive buildthread, just some notes and a few pics during assembly and general flying.
Power will be DLE30 and some servos that I want to test before I use them on 50cc size plane. The SU will be used for IMAC kind of flying. I'm hopping to be able to use the stock hardware. I will be using A123 2s 2300mah for the electronics and ignition.

Our su26m from peak was tail heavy with the mld28 and need a landing gear that was a little stronger. The airplane flys well, it likes a little power during landings. I think the dle30 will work great.

Interesting! Tail heavy, did you use a pull-pull on the rudder or a servo in the tail? How heavy is your plane? any pics?

Yes we used a pull pull and mounted ing and batterys in the nose. We did use two elevator servos. We also moved the engine (motor) out 1/2 an inch, prop sticks out some. Airplane is close now on CG and flys well. Airplane also has a wood prop,a person could use an APC and help the nose weight some.I would think that the dle30 is a touch heavier and will take care of the CG problem we had. I'll try to get a good weight for you.

I will definitely try to keep the plane balance without adding dead weight. Hopefully the plane will get here this week.

Building my second one now. First one has a 40, the second has a 43. As Eric mentioned, the landing gear and gear plate in the fuse is pretty weak. Flys great though. With the heavy 40cc and pull-pull rudder, it balanced with the battery in front of the rudder servo so with a lighter 30cc you may come out a little tail heavy.

Just started building the one with the 43 but the one with the 40 brings a whole new level to the phrase "throttle control"

Ours came in at just over 10 pounds. I would be happy to send pictures if I wasn't on dial up

I'm still waiting, the plane is on the way to Canada, it's almost like it's coming on a boat. Been a week already. Hopefully it make it to Canada soon. How long was the wait for you guys?

Both of mine took two weeks. Most of that time it was sitting at JFK waiting on USPS.

It's nor fun just to look at the tracking and see that it's not moving! Finally it's in Vancouver now, waiting for custom now. As for the DLE it's kind of stock in China, don't know but Peakmodel is looking at it.

Infinitemass do you still have your first one? or replacing the first one?
