Whitey is building the Blue Thunder scheme with a DL 55 and I am building the Russian Thunder scheme with a DA 50. Should be interesting to which plane has more power We are both using the same servos ie Hitec 5645's for aileron/ elevator and 7950 for the rudder. The only real difference between the two is that I am using smoke and he isnt. We shall see |

Hey jdriver and whitey, DO NOT! AND I REPEAT! DO NOT! Use 5645's on your elevators. I had my plane set up the same way you plan to do yours, with 5645's on the ailerons and elevators and then a 7955 on the rudder. But if you are using 2.4, DON'T use the 5645's on the elevators. I had 2 sets of servos blow out on me on the elevators. I was running a 608fs receiver with a 9c futaba radio. IT was all 2.4! I since have switched to a new futaba 12fg, and the problem continued. We recently bought new hitec 7985's for the elevators for the yak, and THE PROBLEM IS GONE! The elevators are working fine now! So do not use 5645's on your elevators, the long extensions to the servo caused power-loss and then eventually a "blown-out" servo! So i am just warning you on this before you chose to do it. Good luck!
