Might need to contact "The Tank" for a comparison, I know he has a JTEC and a Dalton 300.

The JTEC may not fly as well as a Carden or Dalton, but it is an ARF that puts it into essentially a different realm. Overall, I'm sure it's not too far behind seeing as how people love the way they fly. But it's going to be hard for an ARF to beat a well built kit. Just my $0.02.

Alex Porter is a 12 year pilot with 7.5 years experience flying model planes. The J'Tec will hold it's own in IMAC competition as well as excel in 3D for freestyle and all around sport flying at your local IMAA Fun Fly's!

Regional Points Look up by class Intermediate

3732 Alex Porter 974.80 Intermediate SE Scale Aerobatic Nationals
3732 Alex Porter 1000.00 Intermediate SE Tarheel Challenge
3732 Alex Porter 1000.00 Intermediate SE Piedmont IMAC
3732 Alex Porter 1000.00 Intermediate SE Mocksville Meltdown
3732 Alex Porter 1000.00 Intermediate SE Camden IMAC
3732 Alex Porter 749.76 Intermediate SE Gateway RC IMAC

The 749.76 was a mechanical failure. A rudder servo locked to the left on the opening maneuver in the unknown. Completely zeroing the unknown.

Nice airplane, assembles with ease. Very competitive. However a 150 class engine is an adequate power plant, I recommend the DA 170 or higher class engine.

We are actually putting two new 3.2m Extra's together for ourselves. One will have a DA-170 with KS 1090's and the other will have a DA-200 on it. The one with the DA-170 will probably be done this weekend and the other one hopefully next week some time.

Our airplanes have all been designed around IMAC flying and will 3d with the best of them. The 3.2m 300 is the newest version and is lightened throughout the airframe including a lightened motor box, rudder, and elevators. It setup for canister muffler and with a simple modification can accept full length tuned pipes. It also has a built in rudder tray if you choose to use it or you can mount the rudder servos in the rear. The mid wing design reduces mixing and in general give an all around cleaner flight characteristics. And we will put the flight characteristics and quality up against any manufacturer, kit or ARF.

I have seen this fly with a 150 on re3 tuned pipes and it had enough power to fly imac uplines just fine. You have to love fast uplines in imac .

Mike Chandley had one with a ZDZ 210. Can you say rocket ship? All I'll say is WOW!

I just want to come back and say that my comments were not meant to put down JTEC in anyway. They have quality products and if I need an IMAC or 3D airplane quick, I'd buy their Extra or the EF Extra 300 when it comes out. Add Godfrey into the mix with JTEC, EF, Carden, and Dalton and you have a list of what I would bet to be the top 5 airplane designers.

As Kent said Mike Chandley had a 3.2m with the zdz 210 in it. Mike had the zdz 210, full length pipes and all his eagle tree stuff in it and he was able to balance it by putting his receiver batteries all the way in the rear. As Kent said it was a rocket. The biggest thing I suggest when using a motor like the 210 is make sure you fiberglass the firewall like the instructions call for. Other then that you should be good to go with that size motor.
