Default Composite ARF Extra 2,3m

Do you guys know what's the kit's weight of Extra 2,3m?

I am thinking about swapping planes and putting dl50 there which I have in my present plane but it could be not enough.

I have Xtreme comp Edge 2m and can remember that the kit weighted around 3,8kg. Flying weight now is around 7kg and it flies like a rocket.

NOT SURE OF THE WEIGHT BUT I DONT FEEL THE 50 IS ENOUGH. I HAD A ZDZ 80 ON MINE AND IT WAS A ROCKET.

I had one with a ZDZ 80 as well... I think a 60-70cc would be perfect for this plane. The 80cc is awesome though!

It is way too heavy for a 50 though...

Yep, you need an 80cc on that plane, especially when you are hauling around tree branches stuck in the wing.

Thanks for your suggestions. The thing is that I don't want to buy a new engine. I plan to go into 2,6m but before that I would like to build something new. Presently I can't afford for 2,6m and have plenty of free time.

I know that it's easier to put 80ccm and be sure for the power but if I had the kit weight then I am sure what to expect with 50ccm.

So if any of you can get me this data I would appreciate that!

With a ZDZ 80 this plane is 21-22 pounds. When I was building mine I believe that I estimated the weight would be right at 20 pounds with the DA50 with a Pitts muffler.

Even with the 80cc the batteries have to be pretty far forward to balance it... With the DA50 the manual shows the RX pack on a plank over the engine!

I currently have a Extreme Flight Yak with a DA50 it weighs 17.9 pounds... I need to shed at least a pound off of that.... In my opinion the max 3D flying weight for the DA50 is about 17 pounds. Sure you can add tuned pipes and maybe that will help, but 20 pounds is a lot to ask of a 50cc motor.

With the 2.3 if you go all out to keep the weight down. I'd bet 19 pounds is the best you can get.

Hope that helps
