Hey Mark, thats a great video!!

I have a lot of trouble with wing rocking while entering a harrier with my Yak, and also with getting my Yak to back down in a hover. Have you got any tips that you would like to share.....??

Help would be much appreciated

Cheers, Ben.

Hello guys,

I'm also flying the yak 2.6 from comp-arf with DA-100 + 28X10 Biela prop.
This engine is definitely enough for this this airplane.

Here is a link to my video:

Mark Trent, great flying and video. The plane looks awesome!

Benny,
I get asked the question about the wing rocking in harrier frequently. If you look real close you can see that I hold in a little rudder with a cross controlled aileron. I also carry the nose a little higher. But most of all you need to be quick on the controls to counteract any deviation.
As far as backing it down to hover, you need to make sure your throttle servo and carb geometry is perfect for good throttle control with maximum resolution. When the throttle servo is at 90 degrees to the case the carb is at 50% open.

Thanks for the reply Mark, I have always been able to do better harriers if I enter them from a hover, and had noticed that the Yak likes to do them with a particularly high nose up attitude.

I guess I need to work harder on getting that nose through the 'wobbly' point a lttle smoother when entering harriers from level flight. As an aside I can make it do a semi respectable rolling harrier, and find the rolling harrier at the moment to be easier then an upright or inverted version.

As for backing down..... well a set of KS 1060 pipes has made it a little more difficult with the throttle response, but that was never my problem. I feel the airframe gets more 'loose' than it should when trying to engage 'reverse'. It still felt loose when I was running the motor on standard exhausts.

I havnt gotten very adventurous with the cg, as the model is primarily used for IMAC, all I do when I want to muck around and attempt 3D is take off the spinner and back plate and swap my Mejlik prop for a Bolly 27-10 wood. Perhaps I need to try a little tail weight as well???

I flew one with DA150 on it, and its too much power, flies very good, but i think DA 100 or 3w 106 is the best choice.
