Default Re: Aviation Models 37.5% Yak Team Scheme

Craig,
I only see two servos per aileron, are you not getting blow back with only two servos? I tryed two servos, and with some flying speed my roll rate went down he he. If I were limited to eight servos on ailerons and elevator, I would go three on each aileron and only one on each elevator half. The elevators have balancers and although large, they are no comparison to the ailerons.
Plane looks good, I like that scheme. I am waiting for wings myself he he. I tryed to repair mine, but they still flex and I am not comfortable at all, so it stays grounded for now.

I definetly wouldnt run one servo per elevator half, way to large for one even with the counterbalances. I have seen one setup that way, and was concerned about flutter when I saw it fly... cant believe it didnt flutter.

Loved that scheme today Craig when I saw it in person. Would have loved to give it a go, but got tired of moving my car around and left. You guys flying tommorow?

Jens, so far so good with 2 8611's but I did predrill the hole for a 3rd horn just in case. I will see how it goes and add a 3rd if I get blowback. Still just setting it up

John, you are welcome to fly it whenever you want. The parking is a pia right now and I know Steve is just trying to keep the property owner happy. I am sure was not trying to drive you out. Next time I see you please take the sticks and see how it feels compred to yours. About tomorrow....I will play it by ear....looks like a pretty stormy day, but who knows.

Later, Craig

Craig
I like the scheme, all the compliments I hear and I can't try them out, maybe I should switch to mode 2.
By the way, how many planes do you have now?

Elie, switching to mode 2 would put us on an even playing field! I'll throw a Futaba Receiver in either of my two planes if you want to take them for a test drive! There is no one I would trust more than you!! Craig

Elie can learn to fly mode 2, he's got the skills. As you can see out at the Huckfest, I had no problem hucking his Chambliss Edge down low Mode 1 Style!

Will never do that (mode 2), what would happen to tail grabbing?
Thanks for your trust but first I want to finish programing and trimming my Edge before I start doing your Yak....
