Help! CG at H9 Extra 260

Maybe I'm silly or something, but I'm not sure from where to measure.
The manual writes "measure back 5" from the leading edge at the fuslage...".
For me this position seams to be much in front. I would position the CG more in the back. So I'm not sure to measure from point A or B (see foto, B soulkd be at the firewall)??? Anybody how flies this airplaine could maybe tell me about that CG? Thanks

Tom

It will be from the leading edge of the wing at the fuse, probably near the main spar or wing tube.

Oh yeah, from "A"

Hi Tom,

CG should be measured 5" back from the leading edge of the wing so Option A is correct. This should put it around the rear of the wing tube.

Also, Hangar 9 has added some tips on the Horizon web site here: http://www.horizonhobby.com/Products...ProdID=HAN2750

Cheers
Rhino

Mine is currently balanced between the wing botls and the wing tube. The measurement should be from the wing leading edge at the root of the wing or next to the fuselage. Guess that wording is confusing

Refer to your photo: start from point "A" measure back to 5" then you can mark the balance position with pen or sticker for future reference, let we called "C", so you can see she is nose heavy or tail heavy, finally you can adjust weight later.
Mine during maiden flight balanced on 0 degree horisontal position, then in next flight the balance move slightly to aft for 3d mode.

Good luck on your maiden! It helps having the correct CG.
A guy here locally lost one of these on his maiden flight because of the confused wording in the manual in regard to the CG.
