CSpaced...

Yes, I have KS cannisters. No tunnel at all, it works well anyway. The inside of the fuse get a little warm, but not hot, so I think the holes I've made is enough for cooling.

The cannisters themselves gets very hot of course but just 1cm or so around them the temp. is OK, and i have had no problem so far...

About the outer aileron servo, it's a bit tricky to get it in place and you have to make a tool for it, but when it's finnaly there it's rock solid and you will save weight if not opening up for a hatch.

Chris~
Yeah I have to watch the noise or I would go with regular mufflers. It's kind of dissappointing to hear about the smoke sucking on cans though?

Owen, sounds like a good setup. I think I am going to pick up one of the power expander setups from airwild with dual fromeco li-ions, failsafe switch etc. I'm also going to run the fiber optic ignition kill. Before this airplane I was flying around a H9 Extra 260 with a DA-50, but I wanted to be more competitive in IMAC and that airplane wasn't going to work.

peterschmidt that's interesting about the cans and not having to build a tunnel, how many flights do you think you've had on the airplane so far?

Biff...yeah cans are the way to go, especially now as more events are calling for them. Now I am just a little concerned about the smoke not working too good? Has anyone run smoke off of cans with success?

peterschmidt - looking forward to those photos, maybe it will give me some ideas

Kitman - what engine/mufflers are you using? How's it holding up after 2 years?

Well, even though there is plenty of room in the fuse, there's not to much when you want to take a picture..
Anyway, this is what I got:

100_2980.JPG

About making smoke with canisters:
Have a look at this, picture at the very bottom, to the left,
http://www.hobbyborgen-aresti.se/page3.html

It's a C-ARF Yak 2,6m with a ZDZ120 and MTW canisters, in and outlet in front. I think the smoke is OK...

Thanks for the pics, I like the support you made for the cans. What kind of tool did you use to make the cooling slots with?

I made the can support of 3mm balsa with glass fibre om both sides, just like X-treme made the rudderservo tray, very light and very strong...
Tool for cutting the cooling slots? Well, is there anything else than a Dremel...
Dremel with a coarse grinder.
