CSpaced, that setup sounds nice man good luck on your assembly. I wish i could fly IMAC and other competitions here in Montego Bay, Jamaica we don't have these type of competitions, actually its only 2 of us here thats flying now and thats my good friend Andrew. He loves to fly scale, they're about 2 more persons that have planes [trainers] but they rarely come out and i show them how to fly and tune them. And most of all to be around someone that flies ACROBATICS, i can do some but not all of them. I've been flying for a year now and i hope i will never stop, correction i know i won't.

Owen, Kitman is using the SuperSonic/Johnson mufflers that you can get from A.I. or Cactus Aviation. He also swings a 26" prop. Makes for some nice rumbles in the air!!!

peterschmidt - looking forward to those photos, maybe it will give me some ideas

Kitman - what engine/mufflers are you using? How's it holding up after 2 years?
I have the old 3W100 and it has kick arse power! I have 60+ flights and its holding fine, I have a few scuff marks around the wing saddle, but the rest is fine! I had to change the cases in the servos to keep them tight. One of the better planes I ownand will always have one to fly!

I used the standard 3W mufflers made by Sonic for Aircraft International. Using throttle management, sound isn't to bad!

Sounds like a winner to me! Do you have any pics of your setup?

Ok,
Well I don't recall ever talking bad about them?
Anyway, the canister sure sounds nice. When I'm flying at the same time as a 40-trainer I hardly hear mine... I have a ZDZ100 swinging a Menz 28x10, also with power to spare.

She's got pants! I also made a reinforcing plate out of plywood and fiberglass cloth to go over the center of the two landing gear struts.

Any suggestions for a tail wheel assembly?

Small update on my build. I made my own dash panel and mounted it. Canopy is glued in place, and cowl is mounted. Rudder servo's are installed and setup (8611a x2). I crossed the cables and slid a couple of nyrod sleeves over them so as not to cause any chafing or interference.
Elevator servos are installed and elevators are now mounted and setup. I had to work on the slots where the hinges go in to get more throw and I think I have just about as much throw as I can possibly get! The servos are Hitec 5955's. I made my own servo extensions which was pretty easy and rewarding. I think I'm also going to remove the rudder again and work on those hinge slots to try and get some more throw. If you do this you should be careful you don't poke a hole in the outer skin, it is very easy to do so! At least so I've heard....

I decided to go with a Fromeco 2400mah battery on the ignition too and I also have the rest of the power setup on its way to me. It will have the Smartfly power expander, two 4800mah Fromeco batts, Smartfly batt share, and Smartfly optical ignition kill. I've been putting it off but its now time to install the servos in the wings - wish me luck!

One other thing was that the wing tube for the stabs was a little loose inside the stabs so when I bolted them on they moved around a little. I used some tape around the wing tube and now they are rock solid.
