or.....
http://www.camodel.com.ar/
Like in all our models we uses only hand select wood.
The model has a weight of 22/26 Lbs. , a spread of 103'', flies very well with a 85/.100 cm3 engine. we have tested this model in the Newbery Club with the motor of 90 cm3, which takes it very well. The laser cut makes an easy construction being extremely light weight and at the same time a very strong airplane structure. Scale model with sizes taken from the original Extra 300L, suitable for Internationals IMAC Competitions.

Kit Components
  • Undercarriage in Dural of 5 mm.
  • Polycarbonate canopy
  • Detachable wings, stabilizer and rudder in foam plated.
  • Plug-in of wing and stabilizer in Dural (origin the USA).
  • Formers and parts in plywood sheet of 3 and 4 mm.
  • Side fuselage in selected plywood sheet of 3mm
  • Servo support plywood sheet
  • Everything cut by laser.
  • Back, floor of canopy in foam.
  • Toes of wing, stabilizer and rudder cut by laser.
  • Cowl and wheels pants in Epoxi fiber of excellent quality.
  • Rods for trailing and leading edge,
  • Manual.
  • Presentation in box.

SpaceW
to answer your questions:
either engine is fine.I had a brand new DA in prototype and SS is using well broken in 3W.That's why it seems his does have more power....
I don't want to get into DA and 3W"war"...........
Weight of complete airframe is 7.1Kg (15.6 lbs- this includes wheels, tailwheel, spinner).Plus your engine, radio equipment, fuel tank) . You get the idea.Prototype was around 27 lbs and it has 1990 sq.in wing area.
Velox is a smaller airplane and usually comes in around 10.5 Kg ( 23 lbs). 80 ccm engine is more then enough power.
After seeing SS flying Katana I can tell you this plane has no limitation.....it's in your hands......

If you wish I can post a picture of Katana and my Comp Arf Extra side by side and you will see the size difference.

Thanks Nolimitz! Nice planes!!
Which of these two planes do you prefer?and why?

My fear during a flight is if the engine quit I will often in trouble!( maybe because I have only glow engine) Landing a small trainer without engine is very easy but a big plane it's not so easy . No limitz, no you think that the Katana is predictable? easy to land without engine?
thanks again!

Just look at Liesburg. That dude won the Tucson shootout with a QQ 102" Yak. Super sick. That guy knows whats up fo' sho'. Im going to have my 2.6 Yak up in the next month, if I can get parts fast enough. And honestly, I wish I would have gone with the QQ Yak. Good price, gread plane, and it has won what, two contests this year, beating out a gang of 150's? Man, best 100cc plane out there, hands down. Hell, buy two of them! Or three, its just money! And buy me one too!

YOU CANT FADE IT....SO DONT HATE IT....QQ YAKS SUCK....
( This is a snap shot of my pop up push over to inverted harrier to inverted pop up in your face to torque roll on the deck and I've only been flying foamies for a year and a half this is my first gasser and all I can say is that it flies like foamy and is a 3D monster no snap at all and absofrickenlutely no wing rock ultra stable harriers insane blenders I dont really think that the QQ yak sucks but theres no way its any better and it only has 1 scheme..... hands down you cant beat the AM yaks....But I think the new 260 is goin to be the SHIZNIT)

Space,
gliders don't have engines and they fly.............
But kidding aside,I have about 400 fights on Extra and only about 20 on Katana,so I'm still fine tuning Katana.Flight weight is a non issue, both have landed without engine, and they both float forever.......I hope you have long runway.
But if your engine quits in torque roll, you will be buying new plane no matter what....
What glow planes have you flown? Just asking, because Katana has to be "flown all the time".If you want,PM me on this.

STR8HUCKIN

I love that picture you posted. Is that QQ Yak?

No shame ! No mimitz : I have flown "big" glow plane: I had a katana protech 1.80m with an os160fx.( I love the shape of the Katana as you see!) I wasn't very happy with this plane because it was not very able to 3d! One day my engine quit in torq roll! Bye Bye Katana. I have flown( and fly) a f4u corsair ( 2m powered by a 35cc glow). I have flown big piper and Morane( french plane) and the best plane I have flown : the futanaS 140 sebart ( webra 26cc).
Do you think I am good enough for the Katana33%?
