Hey Guys need your help here I have a 50cc areoworks yak and I'm looking to step up to my first 2.6 comp arf but I'm torned between the new patty 300sx or the new 260 2.6 that comp arf will introduced in the next couple of months or the old extra 330L 2.6. I really want to go composite this time around and see what the fuss is all about with these planes for myself. I was told that the 260 flys better but considering my limited flying abilities I probably won't be able to tell the difference. I eventually want to step up to a 40% so I am considering resale value also. Any suggestions to help me decide?

Any of those planes mentioned will do an awesome job! Presonally, I would wait for the 260, as it's a more neutral flying airplane than 330's. The 330 is a beast though! So I guess it will all come down to whichever one YOU like best. ![]() Vic

Buzzardchaser, If you can afford it, and plan to get a 40% any time soon, I would strongly suggest you go ahead and jump into the 40% now. Although the 35% planes are nice, and fun to fly, they fail in comparison to the 40% planes. You will spend more now, but you will soon grow tired of the 35%, as you already want to get into them anyway. And you will lose that money difference, on them when you try to sell the 35%er. Trust me on this, I see it ALL the time, if you can swing it go 40%, if you have to wait, just fly the heck out of the Aeroworks plane till you can. I'm not trying to bash the 35% planes, I have two myself, great flyers, but their just not the same thrill, you will get from the bigger planes. I hate too see people throw money away, (Like I do,...a lot) when you REALLY want a bigger plane in the first place. Good luck in you decision, no matter what you decide, remember, bottom line it's YOUR MONEY!! Chuck P.S. I also have 2,40% planes and have a hard time finding time to fly the 35% planes,..........which is, again, wasting money... |

Tailchaser, Believe me I have worked the numbers many times. I've been told get a 40% many times, but I just can't afford it now. Not only the extra cost of the plane and accessories but I will also need to get a trailer. I figure I afford to can get me the next size plane up and continue to improve my flying. Then when I can afford it, I will sell this one and get me the 40%.

I totally understand Buzzardchaser, In that case, just make sure you equip the 35% you decide on with equipment you can use in a 40 % plane later on. It's mostly the setting up of servos, etc that add up on you quick, but buy the best you can afford so you won't, (hopefully), have to purchase better equipment later on. On another note that 300sx comp sure looks nice too. I had the 330 and really liked it,.........heck, there all good.... Chuck |

Hey BC. I am a Composite-Arf fanatic also. IMO they cant be beat. I have the 330SX and just ordered the 3.3 Yak. Have you considered the 2.6 Yak? IMO, the yak in the 35% size is a much better all around plane( precision & 3D ). |

Hey Buzzard, The 330L is awesome I have well over 250flts on mine its almost 3yrs old and It flys great. You cant go wrong. I have very little coupling and I just mixed it out. Really a non issue. If It were me I would wait on the 260 it will be more nuetral. Best thing is is that you can use most of your gear when you move to a 40% Good luck Spectre |

The 2.6M 260 will be coming out, but there is no "born on date" as of yet. Sooooo many projects, so few days in a week.

They (sales rep @ comp-arf) told me should be available by the end of the year. They will probably have the extra 260 that patty wagstaff (blue scheme) flys and is in some museum.
