Exclamation KITS!

Hey guys.

I'm looking for a kit to build over the winter. Right now, I have no special size in mind but would like it to be between $1-$300. And, if at all possible, I'd like to scratch build one. If anyone knows how to do this, please tell me what program to use, ect. So what I'd like for you to do is name some kits you like, programs, and other stuff.

THNX,
Devin.

Devin,
Take a look at the Lanier stuff. Yeah I know everyone will say that they are heavy but for $1-$300 dollars you can slide into a decent plane with there stuff. Just be prepared to do a little work to get the weight down. All of ther stuff needs to go on a diet. I don't scratch build so I can't help there sorry.

Scratching something in the 48-60 in span range isn't too hard. I just hand draw the plans full size and go from there. There pretty cheap like this too.

If you want to scratch build, but don't want to try to draw plans here is a site that has some for free. My favorite price. http://members.fortunecity.co.uk/slmohr/rcinterest3.htm The plans are in DXF form so you need a 2d drafting program to work with them. I found TurboCAD learning edition as a free download Just do a web search, I don't have the link right now. I'm currently working on a scratch built slope soarer flying wing with 100" wing span.

I dont do scratch building but i like to build kits. Here are a few places you might want to check out for kits:

Kalteisen - Profiles, some park flyer and some glow.
Stevens Aero - Great little park flyer kits
Ohio Model Planes - Profiles kits, the kit most everything they offer as an ARF
Colombo Anderson - They kit airplanes that fit your budget
The kit vendors list on the E-Flight Wiki. Most of this stuff is park flyers.

Out of your price rance but they have kits:
Fiber-Lite: They have an Edge kit
Aero-Tech: Lots of BIG airplanes as kits but more expensive
Carden: Again BIG and expensive kits

Good luck with your project.

not sure how much the kit was, it was already built up by a fellow club member, and its the original Ohio R/C kit. I believe these new kits are updated
