Hi guys I am about to get a 3m plane, and wanted to know my options. I want an Extra 330 / 260 / 300 preferably wood, but composite is also an option. It would have to be ARTF. Engine: DA 150 W canisters What servos to use? Servos must be Hitec. 5955 Titanium gears ? Many thanks Martin

I have a Composite-ARF MX2 w. DA150 on compact mufflers and with 9 x HS5955TG plus a throttle servo. I'm using 2 x Peerless 4800, 1 x Relion 2400, 1 x Smart-Fly G3 Power Expander, Turbo Regulator, Ignition Voltage Regulator, Optical Kill Switch. The MX2 is a great deal at $2,190.00 plus shipping. It comes out at 37 lbs max, it has very good vertical, good snaps, and doesn't fly too fast on down lines. I have a 50 oz tank, two 24 oz smoke oil tanks and Sullivan Sky Writer smoke pump.

The Comp-Arf 260 from what i have heard is an all around plane... I have the comp-arf 330 and it fly's really nice. It just takes some time to dial-it-in. But its a nice flying plane. I think most people will tell you to go w/ the 260 because of the mid/shoulder wing design.

Hi Guys Thanks for the replys, please keep them coming, I am a bit in the dark here. I am hoping to go to the spanish nationals once its dialed in, so I need a real sweet plane that draws real good lines. Are the 5955TG precise and strong enough for what I have in mind? or is it better to go with something like the 5945 ? What batteries and power boxes are you guys using? Thanks again Regards Martin

The Hitec 5955tg's are one of the best giant scale servos out! Definitly go w/ them. Also you could make it simple and buy only one reciver, then a smart-fly power expander so you dont use 2 recivers, and buy a package of batteries and regulators from Fromeco for a 40% package..

Hi guys At the moment I think the forerunner is the comp-arf extra 260 yellow kiwi. DA 150 and canisters Please explain servos, receivers, batteries and power boxes that would be good for this plane. I am new to giant scale planes and really dont want to make a mistake and Im running a bit blind. If you have pics of your composites with electronics that would be great, especially if you could explane the puc a bit ![]() Thanks a bunch guys, Flying Giants is the best Martin

Hi guys Plans have gone wrong turns out that here in Spain for IMAC there is a limit of 15kg, leaving me with a 2.60 plane, I am now looking at the Composite-ARF Extra 330L 2.60 fantasy, DA 100, JR 8511 and 8711 with weatronic rxIs this a good IMAC plane? Thanks Martin
