Well at least there is something they worked out. I have seen cases where people were out a ton of money cause of some random retard that had no clue. Its all part of the risk whenever we put our expensive TOYS up in the air. FWIW I dont think that 2.4ghz will mean trouble free flying for everyone. I am willing to wager there will be people shotdown by devices other than radios. Yes it will probebly solve most of the random events of people getting shot down, but, no system is perfect. Hopefully WH has more planes in stock so a replacement will not take long to get.

Man, I am really sorry to hear about this. Definitely sucks big time for both guys involved. While I would be incredibly pissed at being shot down, it sounds as though it was an honest mistake by an experienced modeler who is willing to do his best to make good on it. Definitely not a good situation for either guy involved. Hope it gets worked out in a friendly manner. As said before, no one wins in this situation. Best of luck to both involved

Dude it takes big brassies to come on here and tell everybody your the one. Good show, Lazyboy I cant imagine how much that sucked but I am sure bodyworks will take care of you. We once had a D-Bag at a funfly hop in his car and bolt before anyone realized what had happened.

I feel bad for both of you guys - especially lazyboyflyer. And yes - it takes guts to own up - good job. I have already made the switch to 2.4 Spektrum. I decided the radio limitations were livable. Last year I had one run away for unknown reasons (ignition IF rather than shootdown suspected.) It's a horrible feeling to have one totally out of your control. I hope Tom can hook you up in short order so your practice doesn't go to waste. It happens all too often - last summer two Sr. flyers at our club had it happen. Both of them flying longer than I've been alive and I'm 37! They just got careless and didn't physically switch the pin - one of them was working on his plane in the pits antenna down - as the other flew past it dove straight in and plowed about 2 feet under - total destruction. It happens and it always sucks. |

Dang... This sucks...this isn't the first time this has happened and we all know it won't be the last. I feel extremely sorry for all involved, words just don't express the feelings. Bodywerks, Thank you for standing up, I'm sure your stomach doesn't feel the same, even today. LBF, I feel your pain, bro, not to the same extreme, but I feel it... Thanks for all that brought this to our attention, just another reminder...

Boulder, you said it! What really killed me was being that guy, the guy that we all have talked about and that I assured myself I would never be. Combine that with ruining someone else's weekend and seeing the look on his face - not good... Anyway, I talked to Tom at wildhare and he does have planes in stock, although not in the yellow scheme. He already knows to bill me when lazyboyflyer calls. As for all the other stuff, I will do whatever he feels will make it right. Last edited by bodywerks; 02-13-2007 at 08:16 PM. |

| Cheers for you for stepping up and doing the right thing. Beers on me next time we meet. We all know you didn't do it on purpose and no one wants to be that guy. All anyone expects is for whoever to own up and teach others that mistakes can happen. |

You know, I don't know if you and I officially met? I also wanted to meet Pedro, as he was one of my inspirations for converting my 35%er to electric, and John Murdoch, because he seemed like a nice guy on the forums. I will be in Vegas for the cirkus fly-in, and my dad lives only moments away from the Riverside flying field and I might compete when they hold the IMAC there. I promise to either have a DX-7 or "CHANNEL 51, DUMBA$$!" painted on my tx case by then...

Wow... that sucks. Come on DX9... come on!!! I hate to get back on topic here, but I have a couple quick questions: 1) Are you using the stock tailwheel? How's it holding up? I have an RCBlimp Ti tailwheel I was gonna use but the stock one looks pretty nice and it looks like it will drag in the grass less than the RCBlimp. 2) Has anyone beefed up the landing gear area? I was thinking of at least putting some hardwood tristock in there... doesn't look like the wood's thick enough to pin. Thanks again, Jason |

I am using the stock tail wheel. I have to bend it back up about every 10 flights. Not a big deal really. I haven't even considered changing it. I have had no problems with the gear. I have had a couple hard landings. One even broke the hub on the wheel and the gear stayed in. Again, I haven't considered reinforcing the gear plate. I may regret these statements the next time I take it out but anyway that is how I feel now. Dan
