Hey jumah, It's great to have you here!! I will give you a very simple answer, others will elaborate further. 3D flying is done with the wings in a stalled condition, meaning that the plane isn't flying with forward motion, it's flying off the prop wash. You will see a lot of video's of birds doing some awesome aerobatics, but not necessarily in a stalled condition, that would be Freestyle aerobatics. Now for IMAC, that is flying particular maneuvers in a particular sequence, and if you attend a contest, you will be judged in your expertise in flying those maneuvers. In other words, it's Scale Aerobatics, or Precision Aerobatics flown with Scale airplanes. This is the simple answer, it is more elaborate than this, however I will let others provide the particulars. Check out some of the videos on the site, great stuff!!! Welcome to the Giants!!!

The best plane for each is a hard call. A lot depends on how large of a plane you are looking for, and your budget. There are many manufacturers that have planes that are very capable of both IMAC and 3D flight, it all depends on how you set them up. I'm going to move your thread into the "Airframes and Kits" forum to give you some more exposure, you should get a lot more feedback from that venue. Thanks for using our services, I'm sure you will be very happy that you chose The Flying Giants!!

You can fly any of those in IMAC as long as you are flying in the Basic class. Sportsman and above, you would have to fly the Katana, from the list of planes you already have. any of the Extras, Edges, Yaks, Sukhois or Caps, (I am sure I am forgetting some) are IMAC legal. Which one to fly is entirely up to you.
