| Flyin' Around ![]() | would the power to weight ratio feel better in this plane with a da-85 than my current 39% dietrich currently running a 3w 170 on cans? I want a plane to go vertical and tear it up on request. I want extra power not needed. Are there any other engine options more powerful than the da-85? |

The DA-85 on this 260 is going to be BALLISTIC! It will have foamy power! That 3W 170 on cans is going to pull that 39% of your around very well to i beleive , but on these smaller planes and this weight( around 21-22lbs) with a DA 85 i think would smoke it in an upline drag race. Honestly this is going to be a very tough plane to beat at that weight and that amount of power. I have one of these on order as well. I think Kevin mentioned i was one of the first i believe. I am going with that exact motor as well.......DA-85!!

| Gettin' Lower! ![]() | Jeffr, I too am on the waiting list(pre-ordered before x-mas). I will also use the DA-85 for power, 5955TG servos for control surfaces. Don't know what servos for choke and throttle yet. any suggestions?? I have been thinking alot about a battery system lately. I have used NIMH for years and I am very comfortable with them but can't seem to find the right size that I want. Anyway, I am expecting the 75cc aircraft to be an outstanding aircraft and I am looking forward to alot of hours flying it!! MR G |

Hey MrG......as far as a throttle servo goes , i tend to like one a little slower like around .13- .15 sec relay time. My buddy ( and room mate) has a 33% SD yak and we went with a Futaba 9452 ( high end digi) only because he had one laying around. and at 6 Volts , it's like .10 sec , and it seems TOO FAST! He has a hard time hovering the damn thing with that servo being so fast. He also uses the spektrum radio which doesn't have expo on the throttle which doesn't help. He's using an arm extension , but that helps only so much. I'm like you with using all 5955's on all the surfaces except for the rudder , i'm going to use one single servo instead of two , so i'm going to give the JR 8711 a try. I have been ANTI JR for a while due to the gear train failures , but the 8711 has good reviews. I think one single 5955 would be well good enough for the rudder as well , but i tend to fly A LOT with the rudder and want all the power i can get out of one single servo , and the 8711 seems to fit the bill. Also....i'm at this very moment stepping down to this sized aircraft because of a cost factor. I'm wanting to buold a couple 85cc birds and stick at this size for a while. I think i'm going to try out the new H9 Sukhoi as well , and slap some 8711's all the way around on that one. I have a 102" WH sukhoi now , that i just can't seem to find the funds to finish it , so i'm selling it , to help fund the build on the Dietrich 260. Man , the difference in a full build between a 85cc bird and a 100cc bird is a lot. I believe probably between $1200.00 - $1500.00 difference with everything added up. I dunno as far as a choke servo , just about anything would work on that , but for the throttle , i prefer a digital servo , about 50-70oz and at about .13 - .15 sec speed.......but that's my preference. ALSO........from what i have gathered over the last week or so , and with a return email back from Kevin over at Dietrich , they are going to be shipping these planes out for sure in the middle of April ( i think April 17th?? , if i remember right)

| Bad-ass Super Contributer! ![]() | an unnofficial word (came from someone that is not employed, but possibly sponsored by them) on RC U is that they are now expecting a late May arrival - now 3 months behind schedule. I hope for all your sake it is worth the wait... |
