I have a set of standard mufflers on the shelf. Thursday I'll have the engine on the test stand, getting some break-in time on it. I'll use the stacks for that, and see how the throttle response and mixture work out on a setup that is not a canister or tuned pipe exhaust.

Kris,
That sounds good, it will be nice to see how it goes with the mufflers. It would also be nice if you can rotate the engine on its left side. Mine always ran great sitting level on the gear but as soon as I picked it up and dropped the left wing it would load up.

Let us know how the different carburator acts. I bet in your case it will not have any impact. You know how to tune that motor in to make it run right.

Can't you get one 1/2 lean or rich with mismatched runner lengths on the intake side?

I think the MVVS 116 does that on their intake, but no one else that I know of. I could be wrong

ZDZ twins also rconfigure the case to balance loads they added a bulge in the case which is obvious

The Super 160 on cans is the best midrange runner I have seen smooth quiet etc..
The MVVS 116 is also very goodthat way--on the factory cans but--------- they opted for the big carb and to get response squared away as well as posible --they added a linked throttle blade/ low speed needle gizmo- it works but is not an ideal setup I have setup a couple - they are very smooth engines.

GUTSY Move! Let me get this straight, you offered to trade one of your working BME 110’s for a Non working BME 115 and you ACTUALY DID IT?????

KrisW, what are you doing???? No one took you serious on your offer.

Not only did you do the trade but you are posting what your doing on the non working BME 115 as you go through it and fix the problem, before you even know if what you did will work?

All I can say is that you must have total confidence in the BME, I think this is a great way of putting your money where your mouth is.

Agreed, Kris step up to the table and kept his promise.
Thankfully my 115 with the 3 needle carb runs just fine Version I was ok, but would go a little lean if ran at WOT in the air for extended periods of time. Carb mod version II should make all work well with regular diverters too.
