Joe,i don't know if you were referring to me about the changing of reeds for no apparent reason.i did have a good reason to change the reeds i was and still getting a little spitting of fuel from carb.i also flip the stock reeds over, that after doing that laid flat on the reed block but still getting the spitting of fuel.so far that is my only real complaint about the engine.never made it a issue because it should be a easy fix with some good reeds.i have a Beila 24-8 but have not tried it yet after getting two gals. of fuel through it.now the last time i tach it i was getting 7550 on a Vess 23-A.i been reluctant of changing to the 24-8 because it has such good throttle response and pull out from a hover on the EF yak.but i am going to but the 24-8 on the engine when i get a new wing tube from EF. i myself will like to see what it will spin the 24" prop.not trying to argue with you i just wanted to get the record strait.

Specifications

DISPLACEMENT 3.5 cubic inches (57cc)
WEIGHT 62 ounces (including ignition, and muffler)
OUTPUT 5.6 HP @ 7000 rpm
THRUST 32 lbs @7,000 rpm
RPM RANGE 2,000 to 9,400 rpm
RECOMMENDED PROPS
22x8, 22x10, 23x8, 23X10, 24X8, 24X10
BENCHMARK PROP JXF 24X8 - 7000 RPM @ 5000Ft Elevation

So what's your point??? You saying they are using a higher revving prop to make the engine look better? I don't think Larry would do that. He seems to have a good engine with reasonable numbers from what I've heard.

Notice Dave that although they only go one prop above the benchmark to prevent over loading they list several under. That is to give you a choice for your application. If you were doing 3D and wanted something that would spool up quicker you can drop down a prop or two. Just be sure and set your end points so you don't over-rev the engine.
Who's BCMA ? I talked with larry several months ago about his engine line and he said tommy was only building them for him and he would be the only distributer.

Click on the link. These engines were offered to Adam at BCMA when they were first in development. He may be selling them for Larry for all I know. I do know Adam is an engine man and does the warranty work for his engines and Cermarks. He's very knowledgable and, like Larry, a great guy to deal with.

Larry is the importer and a dealer. Adam is a dealer.

Now back to my sailplanes for a while.

Oh, I think Joe meant me when he said change reed without a reason, but I had a reason, I wanted to, works for me.

As far as Ralph, many people on here have waited for Ralph to comment on the engine after Larry bragged about having him on-board to back this engine. I've since collected enough information on the engine from the other customers to form an opinion without Ralph's comments. Obviously the distributors don't feel comfortable having people comment on their engines. That also tells me a lot.

Larry never "BRAGGED" About having Ralph on board to back the MT57 engine. Larry stated "Ralph Cunningham is part of the MT line of engines as doing the warranty work for Tomy R/C and LS PRO ENGINES". Ralph is in charge of service, and is our technicle advisor, I am happy to have Ralph serve in that role.

Al Lewis has been waiting for Ralph to comment on the engine, and Ralph does not work for Al Lewis.

Let the people that have bought the engine comment on it. As I have stated before the engine speaks for itself.

Ralph should have the engine on Monday and I think he will drop everything and start his evaluation of the MT57.

Larry,
Is the Dubro arm I need a small one or is there another size? Thanks.

Darrol,
You need to get a Dubro plastic steering arm. Take a dremel tool and grind of the a little of the shaft to get the small arm off. Install the steering arm in its place. Use a 2 56 ball link as the linkage with golden rod to the servo. this way you will not set up any funny's with the RF. Thanks for posting.

As i thought Al and said before, theres a real underlying nastiness about you, more of a computer flier, than a field flyer. One of those who sits in his armchair, and talks just for the sake of it.
Seeing as you have no experience of the motor,im sure most would now appreciate your removal from this thread.
I neither, wholesale or retail or have any sponsorship with this company. My only input was the testing of the UK prototype and my design for the new MT Logo.Im not hyping up figures for the bennefit of sales, cos it dont benefit me none.

Lets get on with the MT57 thread and stop having to listen to Als Ego constantly posting.
