Well said Joe. He has the most to say about nothing. Makes statements that he knows nothing about and has an agenda. He has more posts on this thread and does not own the engine and has no interest to own one but is here stirring the pot. I think he should take his DL50 and fly into the sunset. Everyone knows he is a DL hack and that is the only reason he is here. They got sick and tired of him on the other site. Of about 1500 posts on the DL50 and 1/2 are his. As for a few stragglers and newbies buying the engine, I dont know where I have been shipping all the engines I get and have to wait for new cargos to have more to ship. I guess there is a lot of stragglers out there, that want to fly planes not the keyboard.

I think Al is intelligent, however I really wish he would channel his efforts in a more positive way. It sure looks like he has an agenda. I don't like agenda's, and I don't like sales team members trolling the threads trying to steer sales. As for the DL-50, I think it's a good engine, I've had a few of them. I'd really like to see a stronger purpose built engine for the 50 cc planes, and I support anybody trying to accomplish this task.

The Mt-57 is a great motor!! been flying mine for many flights now. DIETRICH-260-MTW-75 can. Xoar 23/8 Power to spare will hover between 1/4 & 1/2 throttle. transition is a blink on an eye. Starts easy idle Solid. My take is, If you don't take advantage of the price it's your loss. I've had great success with the MT-57 It's definitely a keeper! And this if far from my first 50cc motor (sixth) if my memory serves me well. All different brands. Did I mention this is my favorite motor so far. My TAURUS is 2nd DA 3rd. Thats about all I have to say,
AJT.

I don't worry too much about the prices going up. The overall trend is down. There are plenty of new engines coming to market that will reduce prices even lower. Used DA's used to sell for nearly what they cost new. It was hard to even find a used one. Now they are everywhere and they are down about 25% in value. DZY is working on a DA-50 clone, when it comes out, I would not be surprised to see a decrease in the cost of the DL-50. The more competition the better, thats for sure. Anybody remember what the little hand held calculator cost when it first came out? I remember something like 1000 dollars. I bought a nice one the other day for $1.50 The moral of the story is, always welcome competition, support it. Offer constructive criticism when something needs to be improved. And for Gods sake don't sell out your opinion for a free motor as many guys do.

AJT,
Thanks for the kind words, I am happy to hear you are pleased with the engine in all aspects. For your information DIETRICK PERFORMANCE AIRCRAFT is now a dealer for the MT57. In fact he bought every MT57 I had in stock!!!!!!! I had [12] in stock and he bought all [12]. Would you say he was a "STRAGGLER"???????
Glad you are having fun flying the 260. I told Kevin you were flying that combination. Keep the clean side up!!!!!

Been there! I always second guess myself before I buy. (lol) The MT-57 is really a nice package. I ran three 24oz tanks with 32:1 lawn boy for break-in then switched to 50:1 Bell-Ray MC1. Settings for the needles, LOW 1 1/2 turns out---- HIGH----Started @ 2 turns out then adjusted IN 1/16th at a time until I acquired a nice co-co brown plug color. Haven't touched them since THREE gallons later. (Just in case anyone was wondering? especially new people looking to purchase their first GAS engine.)

Yep i agree with AJT,someone buying there first gasser doesn't want a finicky engine.mine is one of the easiest starting engines i have and it is a toss up between the Taurus 52 and the MT57 which one has the smoothest idle.if the weather is rite tomorrow i am going to fly and will be the first tank of Belray @ 50:1,going from Pennzoil 32:1 and also going to try out a Beila 24-8 to see if i like it any better than the 23-A Vess, that is spinning 7550 now. i know that is to fast but i love the pull out it has and fast spool up.

I think your right on target about pricing! and competition is on the consumers side for sure. As for the rest of the story I just tell it like is is! Sometimes it gets me in trouble but most times it's accepted
closetguy
Lucky you, I will be working all day tomorrow :>( I think the VESS 23-A will be hard to beat for 3-D but I'll bet the Beila pulls like a tractor with great down-line braking. Sounds like fun to me!!! Be sure to let us know how you make out.

Here is a clip of one of my LS Pro MT57s running from a couple of nights ago.

Here is the setup details:

LS Pro MT57
Stock muffler
Premium fuel
32:1 Petroleum based oil for break in.
Xoar 23x8 prop
Before this run, I had about 12ozs of fuel through this engine, engine is definitely not broken in yet. Max RPM was 7140

That looks good, you said it's new, did you change the Chinese plug out, or did you get one with the replacement plug? It looks like you have the sensor on with a hose clamp? What did you set the timing at? The motor seems to be really putting out.
