| Flyin' Around ![]() | I used an NGK plug. I have run this particular engine a few times. The first run out of the box (no adjustment and with regular fuel), I was getting 6700+ RPM with the same Xoar 23x8 prop. After that, I adjusted it a bit and switched to Premium fuel (91 Octane)and I was getting 6980 RPM. I used the hose clamp to make it easier to adjust the timing. We played around with the timing at different settings. On the video run, it is set around 27-28 degrees, slightly above the stock setting of 26 degrees (as I measured it). Not really sure if adjusting the timing is neccessary. The pull on the ground is incredible (even from the first run!). I'm anxious to see what it does when it is broken in. Grizak |

| Doo It! Doo It! ![]() | Hughes, where did you get that info about there being two different 57's.i will bet that the 57 Pro is a hop-up version of the PLAIN OLD 57.if this is true that REALLY SUCKS! now about the timing i thought it was said early on that the timing was to be set at 28* BTDC and now someone is saying 14* is correct. i know Ralph has said in the past that this type of ignition on these MT57's are suppose to be set at 28*. what really frost my balls is that now there is a updated version of this engine that's probably going to be stronger running engine(if all of this is true) and the first few were all just prototypes! |

| 3D wantabe ![]() | I've got the very first engine and one from the second batch, I'm happy with them. As far as these being prototypes, I don't think you can go that far. This is my opinion, I don't ask Larry for any inside scoops on engine design, but I doubt if any engine design is frozen from the day they start to sell it. Where would DL be if they said live with the broken lugs our design is frozen. I would think after a year or two the design is frozen. The timing issue is odd, mainly because it's so easy to fix, here or at the factory. I remember at the start of the MT57 that Europe had the MT57 Bully and we had the MT57cn, the difference was the Bully had a cast crankcase which the Europeans prefer, the USA got the CNC crankcase which the Americans prefer. I know in the begining Larry called the engine the LS Pro MT57, hey that rolls right of the tounge he dropped that and when with just MT57.![]()

| Gettin' Lower! ![]() | My post was in question form. If you look at the RPM numbers and now timing being changed etc we are definitely seeing two different setups so far, three if you include the UK model. DL changed mounting lugs, we are field testing these engines; R&D costs money! |

rpm. The proper timing is between 28 to 32. We have come out with a new Hall Sensor to increase the timing. Anyone that have bought an engine from LS PRO ENGINES or one of OUR DEALERS can e mail me at larry@lsproengines with your mailing address and I will send you out a new sensor. You have already drilled new holes and have gained the timing you should have so you are ok. If you would use the new sensor now, the timing would be to high. [about 40 degrees] Your engine was not a prototype engine. The timing issue has been address and that was the biggest improvement. The engine in that latest video clip was the same engine that you have, from the same lot. Larry, LS PRO ENGINES AIRBORNE RANGER | ||||||||||||||||||

I just checked my records and it shows that you did not buy your engine from LS PRO ENGINES or any of my dealers. If you have issues with your engine I suggest you contact the dealer you bought it from. Maybe they will spoon feed you to get your engine performing correctly.
