Yes...They're not advertised, but still made for us by APC...I think there's one here...It was made for the WCAR series, no longer around, but IS the same prop....
Address ??
I can get the current prop, just have to make a phone call....

MT 57 engines delayed,

Ok guys listen up. The shippment of the MT 57 engines have been delayed for one week. I just got word from Tomy Shen that because of a diesel shortage the DHL trucks did not get the engines to the airport. Thus they missed the flight . To add to the situation there is a natioal holiday in China and the cargo is not being sent until Monday. The one good thing is that it has cleared Customs and there should not be a delay in reaching me once it gets to the USA. I am very sorry for the delay but it is beyond my control. I will do whatever it takes once the engines arrive to get them shipped to those that have ordered and paid for them.

Did you get any thrust readings?

Can you throw a 22x8 on it, lots of guys over here use that as a baseline measuring point.

Rich

Here is a link to the video of the 57 running on a 22 x 8/10 and a 24 x 8
The 22 x 8 is not the best prop for the 57 the 50 will out rev the 57 on a 22 x 8 have a look here
so if the 22 x 8 is your prop of choice I would suggest the 50 which is basicly a short stroke 57 with the carb on the side of the crankase instead of the rear as per the 57

Me too, for a say 18lb. heavy "50 cc (yeah right) plane". All these 50cc planes seem a bit heavy for 50cc. We put 4.2's in anything approaching 20 lbs. and 60cc in the grey area. And I was never a light plane freak, just powered 'em accordingly.

Plus I have never been a "3D" pilot but this season would like to try my hand at harriers just so I can get to the slow rolling harrier. AND I need all the help I can get!

I was kinda hoping that I could put this one on a 17-18lb. plane and put the DL on a fifteen pound plane I also have. I like the price tag and hope it proves out, I'm pretty sure it will.

I'm trying to figure out why it is any better than a "lightened" G-62. I guess I compare all the "new" engines to Zenoah, Quadra and Sachs. A pound or less in weight for wing loading only does not always make enough differance? When a trade off in power is part of the price ?

COST is why !!

This is the mounting template I made, cross referenced to a DA's mounting. I have this in PDF if you want it that way PM me.

I went out today to test tuned pipes and mufflers, the picture is what I took with me.

The guys in the south can't relate to this, but it was so cold I kind of did it more quickly than I would have normally.

I put a 22A on it, and a 11 inch header, then ran it I got 7500rpm. I then put 3 pipes on it and got 7560, 7530, 7500rpm. Clearly I don't know how to set up a pipe, I put a Toro lawn mower muffle, $5.00 at Lowes, on it to see what I got, 7020rpm and good muffling. Then I pit a canister on it 7200rpm, nice sound, and a lower idle. I forgot to take thrust readings, I had it hooked up, I think the noise just had me rattled. The noise at 7500rpm is physical, and I think most of it was prop noise, it hurt.

23A Vess With the KS4 076 60 muffled pipe I got 7400rpm and 33 pounds 12 ounces of thrust, with the MTW TD 75 k canister I got 7200rpm 31 pound 6 ounces of thrust. It was loud, but not physical like the 22As sound.

23B With the same pipe I got 6700rpm with 31 pounds of thrust, much quieter, the canister gave me 30 pounds of thrust at 6650, sounded nice and mellow.

I never got to test the two stock mufflers, the EZ connector broke on my throttle servo, and I was really cold from standing in 34* temps with a 100mph wind blowing on me.

The pipe was causing what seemed like a high-speed miss, clearly caused by not knowing how to set up a pipe because it wasn't there on the open header run or the canister runs. I'll work on that, it's not the engine, it's me.

I'll fly it with the 23A & B with a pipe, I think the B will come into it's own in the air.

Less blogging, more flying for a while.

Hi Soarich, the high speed miss that you refer to,probably isnt anything to do with the pipes you ran.If you are using the same spark plug supplied with the engine, this is likely to be your problem. As described on the UK test in previous treads, the spark plug is a real cheapy and breaks down very quickly.Go get a new NGK
