yep, i am very happy with the second engine, actually the first one wasn't all that bad, this one is just stronger.now that i know what it will do with the pitts muffler i am going to put on a MTW pipe and see what the new one will do.first one was getting 7550 on the pipe with the Vess 23-A.this one should be in the 8000 range, but that is pushing it a little for RPM's.more like a 24-8 would be better but still should be in the low 7000 range.the first two tanks of fuel i used a Menz-s 22-8 and was getting 7450.
also i need to give credit where it is due.i have never gotten a call from any manufacture in this hobby wanting the product back to make it as as it can be!
THANK YOU Tomy

I agree, I had some strong comments in the beginning about the MT57 engine. I am glad they have offered this as an option to their customers.

Question here. I ordered the new 87 SU-26 from Nitro planes with is an 87", considering. will the MT 57 be a better engine than a DL50, or just about the same. I'm concerned with power and which engine would be best, Thanks in advance for your help.

this is what i have notice at our field.the only two DL50 there both smoke out the exhaust but after they run for a minute our two it clears up.they both have a burble in midrange that can't be tuned out.one has a mejzlik 22-8 he is getting 7300,the other has a MSC 22-8 he is getting 7000.first one is at 60-1 oil ratio the other is at 100-1.
the MT57 i have never smokes at all and has no burble at all and spins a Vess 23-A at 7100 after only four tanks of fuel.

I am not a fan of the DL... but if it smokes that is a clear sign it's not tuned properly. Smoke is not properly burnt fuel and oil.

I own the DL50 on an MTW RE2 pipe. No smoke or burble whatsoever. The mid-range burble is usually carburetor related and can be easily fixed. Mine spins a Vess 23B at least 7200rpm on 89 octane Amsoil Saber 90:1. A fellow club member also owns the DL50 on the stock muffler w/o issues and a friend the DL100 which is a great running engine.

For my next project, the soon to be released EF Edge 540T, I'm gonna give the MT57 a shot, also on a tuned pipe.
